i really cant get past that orge part, even if i revive a character again one or two still end up dead, so i wanted to ask if maybe a character IS supposed to die at that scene? because i feel like i've tried over 10 times already but nothing is working im too WEAK D;

(+1)

Oh that's very weird. The fight isn't supposed to be hard. The real challenge is keeping the sheep alive.

What level are you at? If you explored a bit, got some new equipment along the way (looting or buying) and is using each character's skills well, the fight should be pretty easy.

Jeanne can buff the team's defense, and Mao can do a ton of damage if you buff him with a fire rag or Jeanne's dark buff. The ogre is weak to elemental damage too so Lianna is great at the fight, but blinding it might be even better so it misses its attacks more often.

I hope that helps!

(+1)

ohhh im supposed to keep the sheep alive...?:O

hm, i think i like at lvl 3, not very high sadly, i'll still try tho, and i noticed that the orge seemed to be weak to elemental damage, still thanks alot for confirming!              and i actually never tried blinding the orge before since i thought it whouldnt work since it didnt work for the skeletons either, the tips are definetly helpful tho so thanks alot!:))

(+1)

NEVERMIND! i was able to kill the ogre (finally) with your tips, thanks alot because the fact that i was supposed to use jeanne to help the others kinda walked in the opposite direction (aka i didnt get it at first) because i thought i was supposed to make her attack, although even tho i won the sheep rests in peace now :'p

(+1)

Congrats! xD

But yeah, keeping the sheep alive is really hard. The best strategy is reviving it when the ogre is close to death. It's no coincidence you find unicorn tears in the dungeon right before the farm ;)

Skeletons are probably immune to blind since they don't have eyes, tho the lich can be silenced (I think, been ages since I worked on the game lol). But bosses tend to have high resistances to debuffs because it's 3x1 and stun-locking it would be too easy otherwise.

Anyway sorry for the headache! The game isn't meant to be super hard or anything (you're actually expected to not do every mission perfectly) but learning about elemental resistances and not just spamming attacks every turn is important. You can always  check the book in the guild too for tips against pretty much every enemy in the game too!

(+1)

one last question (i hope im not bothering), am i allowed to do fanart????:3

(+1)

Played this game last year on Newgrounds and just got done with my second run at 26 hours. Had to download it on Itch.io because of how much I enjoyed it. The gameplay was fun and had some interesting decisions with escaping major fights for less rewards but the story was easily the main appeal. I found Lianna's plight engaging, helped greatly by your style of humor making it easy to get into the world. The only issues I can think of are minor oversights (like some parts being untranslated).  Overall, this was one of my favorite games in recent memory and I cannot wait to see what comes next from this series (Excited for Spirit Arrow).

I'm really glad to hear this even after so long <3

Funny enough, I was doing a minor rewrite of the whole script with the help of a native speaker, and the untranslated parts would probably be fixed too (I made every update first in Portuguese so a couple of friends could try it out), but it's kinda left in the drawer now. I'll probably finish it if I ever go back and make some more post game content (like the other beast people village to the south, explore Jeanne's situation with her family, revisit Lianna's home...) This is all extra tho. The game is fully finished as is.

Spirit Arrow is kind of in a limbo too, between me being bad at programming and having a lot going on in life pulling my attention, so it's going to take forever before it releases. There is a demo out tho, if you wanna try it out. Just keep in mind it's PC exclusive.

(+2)

Hello again :)
Do you know how i can find other games like this? I've tried but I couldn't find anything.

(+1)

Oh, hi!

Well, I'm assuming you're talking about games made in the RPG Maker engine. You can start by just googling "best rpg maker games" or similar. There should be plenty on Itch, Newgrounds and Steam. One I really liked would be OneShot. Yume Nikki and Omori are really popular too, tho I haven't given them a shot yet. But I have to admit most RPGM games I've played were eroges xD

But if you're talking about the story... Well that's a little complicated. I wrote this story kind of in a "something I wish I could read, but nobody has written yet, so let me do it instead" sort of way, so I can't really give you any recommendations. My inspirations were in some novels/anime like Konosuba and Re:zero.

I hope that helps!

(+1)

Thanks I'll check it out.

Hello tiagox :) I recently found time to invest in playing a new game starting in the web version of 1.0.5 . At this point made it to level 11 for all 3 main party members & lvl 10 for Shida, at the chapter entry of the graveyard is reallowed. I have beat each boss through grinding

(Minor locations & chp 11 spoilers below)

I found a greatly impactful bug that carries over save files that is triggered somewhere between obtaining the spirit severin and talking to the gravedigger. I believe entering the bed to change day to night may be involved, or be the bug trigger itself. --- The bug is that any exp gained is subtracted from all characters --- for the respective value to each individual character, that should have been positive, after (any) combat.

I noticed the bug and have experimented with it for a few hours prior to submitting this comment. I believe it may have occured on my prior play session this week without me noticing as the experience values in the character statuses were confusing me /didn't seem right, as I was grinding :') (I lost exp and only benefited items) on my way-out of Sirsui village and the Cliffside passage.

(The bug may have also occured somewhere around visiting the house of rest or after having the friendly match.)

(It is of note that my Shida was equipped with an attentive goggles and received their own respective exp for each battle (in negative.))

If occured once in a playthrough (I'm not sure if this is only true if in possession of a savefile containing proof of the bug.) this bug can affect older save files from all chapters, such as from chapter 5 "spice and a warg".

I theorize the bug may potentially stop a new/fresh game, made with the new_game button {on the same device, without clearing all saves}, from ever receiving exp.

I am unsure, as i have not experimented if; the debug mirror's given experience based on chapters will be dealt/received by the characters as positive values, if going back down a level is possible, or acheiving negative experience.

Sorry if I created a lot more development work needed on this game for you when you were close to finishing it. :(

I appreciate the commitment you've made to this project and your time taken to interact with your community.

P.s. the Peccora mansion quantum table will be remembered :)

(1 edit) (+1)

Oh thanks a lot for the help trying to locate the bug! And I'm sorry it happened to you.

But that's really weird... Did you lose only the exp progress to the next level, or did your characters' level go back? It seems to be the former. Also, it did happen to everyone, and not just Shida, right? Did the battle screen display your gained exp as negative, or did you only look at it in the menu later and saw the number was smaller?

If I'm not mistaken, if I tell the engine to jump you to a certain level, it will you make the character's level exatcly it, and their progress to the next level should be reset. The weird thing is, this should only happen when you use the debug window to jump to a certain chapter, which levels up the 3 main characters. Shida isn't involved in the main story, so this shouldn't affect him either way.

It could be related to Attentive Goggles, but it has  the simple effect of multiplying the exp you gain by 1.1 (so 10% more than normal). You actually losing exp after battle is REALLY weird, and I don't remember there being any status effect in the game that affects your exp gain aside from being dead (by default, it multiplies your gained exp by 0, which I manually removed anyway since this is a tough game and I don't want sacrificed characters to gain nothing from bossfights).

The only other event that can mess with a character's exp (that I can remember) is when they rejoin your party. RPG Maker gives me the option to initialize their data, meaning return to their default level (Lianna would be 1, Jeanne 4 and Shida 9). It's possible there's an event somewhere where a character rejoins your party and I accidentally left the initialize option marked. (note: you know a character has left your party when you open the pause menu. Sometimes I just disable followers for special events or cutscenes, which is only a visual thing)

When you change chapters by sleeping on a bed, the game runs the "recover all" code, restoring everyone to full health and healing any status ailments. And when you interact with it in the late game it only uses triggers to switch between day and night. So I don't think the bed is involved (the code for it is very short too, and I just double checked it)

If you want to keep trying to find it, those are all the leads I have. I'll have a good, long look at the events this weekend when I have the chance. Thanks again for your dedication and help!

(Btw, what do you mean quantum table? Did I forget a joke? xD)

edit 1: tried cheating to get my characters to a high enough level and equipped some with the attentive goggles. They still gain exp like normal. So I guess it's not related to their exp curve or something.

(1 edit)

So I confirmed the existance of the bug before started 2 new games that used the debug mirror and made a save of the progress. Now all my saves are receiving exp correctly, displaying both the total exp for each character increases, and the exp value to the next level decreases.

I'm certain that the total exp value displayed would decrease after each fight as i just assured myself a half hour ago, but now I'm unsure if the remaining exp display beneath it was or wasn't working properly previously. :/

I didnt get to check if i could go back down levels but I guess my weird problem is fixed now, and I now know a solution, despite not being able to fully locate the cause. ¯\_(••)_/¯ I believe strange interaction with the bed is involved because when I first came into contact with it, I interacted twice in a row by mistake (because I'd been farming herbs), turning it day again faster than it should have been able to.

If my problem couldn't be undone I planned on grinding for herbs in Hyuchi or Jack & William's cave and only participating boss fights to minimize exp loss, but now I don't have to. :)

Thank you Tiagox for reading my comment and informing me on how visual character disablement works. :)

The quantum table was a table model that you've (edit: mostly) progressed from using which filled a whole tile, existing on the edge of the Peccora mansions interior map, that I referred to in my first comment about 2 years ago. :)

You removed it in the update of the furnishings of Peccora mansion & removal of the invisible obstacle in the chapter 5 cutscene. It was a joke from quite a while ago. 😅

(+1)

Oh my! Yes, I remember changing the table and other furnishings after some update. Wow. That brings me back xD

Anyway, thanks again for the help. I'd be nice if you could recreate the bug, buf it it was indeed caused by stacking interactions together... Do you play the browser version? I have no idea why, but it's been known to let you skip entire lines of code if you click through cutscenes too fast. One player managed to retain the no clip/collisions off state after a cutscene had ended, and so phased through buildings in the whole game, but never managed to replicate it.

Well, right now my theory is that a similar thing is happening to you. The issue remains that the bed isn't supposed to mess with your characters' exp either way, so it's hard to tell what the culprit is. Maybe it's one of those crazy bugs that happen in pokemon where you can change parameters from one section of the game to another (like using an item ID for a pokemon), but at this point I'm just putting a tinfoil had on xD

The hunt still remains though. But thank you again for your effort!

(+1)

Hi there, I was looking for this kind of game (with a guild system and other stuff) for a long time until I finally decided to check out Itch.io. Then I found this game, and it's a really good game. I have some ideas about making RPG games, but I was just too lazy, but you gave me the courage to do it now.  Waiting for New Updates.

(+1)

Aww thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

RPGMaker is a great engine if you just want to get straight to programming an RPG without having to touch actual code. If you want I can direct you to the tutorials I followed. Managed to learn 90% of what I needed to make this game in one week, believe it or not.

But have you already beaten it? It's already finished but I do plan on releasing more side content later on when I'm done with other projects. For now, if you want, you can try replaying the story and getting endings you didn't get, or finding secret side quests. (if you didn't do the Mappi and Huyuchi village quests, I highly recommend!)

(2 edits) (+1)

Thanks for the recommendation, but I have already been using Unity for more than three years and made  few games with it, but sadly, we haven't published any of them yet. But I'll check RPG maker too.

Yeah, we beat it, but we cannot find the secret side quest (quest about the yusha, I guess). Can you give us a hint?

And were there multiple endings? I thought there was only one. We'll try to find them. BTW, it's a cool game. Do you know some other games like yours?

(1 edit) (+1)

Ohh then you're probably way more competent than me at making games xD Please let me know if you ever publish one tho!

The Yusha quest is tough. You need 4 diary pieces and can only find each in order, the last 2 pieces only available after the credits. The secret is to just retrace your steps carefully to revisit places you wouldn't normally. Good luck ;)

Also, sorry I should've been clearer. There's only one real ending to the game (plus a secret joke ending). By endings I meant to the quests, as a great deal of them have 2 endings (usually by completing it or failing, which is kind of the canon option since it's what I wrote the original novel as. Still left the option to win fights you're supposed to lose since I know some players would try tho xD)

(+1)

No doubt, you are way better than me, as almost all the games I made were endless run-type games, and you have such great art skills too. By the way, me and my brother have some ideas about an RPG, but it may take time to finish. We'll let you know if we publish a game, for sure.

Thanks for the hint; we'll try to find them.

Yeah, you are absolutely right. We are going to beat that scammer guy too.

(+1)

Ohhh good luck! That's another tough fight! xD

Well I don't believe a whole lot in talent. My game is far from perfect but I'm always listening to game reviews (nerd), and the story had the benefit of have already been written back in 2018 and gone through several iterations. If you know what you're doing, have a solid vision as to what the player should experience and do your best within your limitations (if you're not an artist, try simple pixelart, commission an artist or use free assets; if you're not a composer, get royalty free songs online etc.), I'm sure you can make a great game!

(Only now reread my previous reply and edited it. I must've been drunk. No way a sane person types like that lol)

(+1)

I'm completely lost, is there a map for the dark ruins to the east?

Is that for chapter 4, I assume? Don't worry, the dungeon is really short. Just have a good look at where the teleporters are taking you and you'll soon notice a pattern ;)

(+1)

Where did you get the music from for the main town Lianna lives in? It sounds amazing.

Ah thanks!

All of the used songs came with RPG Maker MZ. They don't even have proper titles, and that one is just called "Town8" in the files xD

(+1)

ima search that up on youtube lol.

(1 edit)

You can also just download the game and take a look inside the folders. All the bgm are in .ogg format ;)

(+1)

ah, tho my dad wont let me download stuff so i gotta ask if i can make a game.

Oh my. Not even if you ask him first?

If you want to make a game, you'll have to at least download the engine first too. If it's RPG Maker it already comes with art and sound assets at least, but it isn't free.

(+1)

Hello again!(sorry i couldn't find your Instagram) i was thinking between me and my friends from discord to make a rpg game just like for fun or as a joke from our rpg in discord,do you have any recommendations of what programs to use or have to creat one game of rpg in pixiel style? And about the fnf mod me and my friends decide to give up,very people of our class is demanding absolutely much upgrades in short time and others are just demanding things that we can't put in the mod,so i just think to just make a rpg game with my discord friends for fun,and i notice you don't have a very good english in the game -v-,if you want help with this i think i can help,i have been good in english with 7 years old just playing video games ^^

Oh hi there!

Well if you want to get a game done quick, RPG Maker is probably your best option. It's the engine I used to make this game and it's so simple I learned most of what I needed in 1 week. RPGM very focused so you can get things done very quick and don't even have to touch actual lines of code. Though that means it's very limited and you won't be able to go crazy unless you install plugins or are just really skilled at programming and can write code directly into the game. It doesn't have pixelart visuals by default, but you can just get tilesets that match the look you want online (or just draw them yourself).

This is the tutorial I used to get started:

It's for RPGM MV, which is a few years old now, but even though I used a more recent version it hadn't changed much so it was still pretty easy.

If you don't mind building all the systems from the ground up though, you can try something like Game Maker Studio 2 (the engine I'm using for my next game). But it's VERY complicaded since you need to learn proper programming to use it, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you can spare several months just getting the main systems ready.

I hope that helps!

And don't worry. There's already a kind player who is a native speaker and decided to proofread the game and the next updates will have reviewed text.

Also, if you still wanna find my Instagram:

https://www.instagram.com/tiagoxningenjanai/

(+1)

thank you! I can't wait for your next game!^^

(+1)

Also how do i make a game, i tried but it just showed a place to upload. Do i have to make a game then upload it here?

If I'm not misunderstanding you, you want to program a  game yourself? As far as I know, Itch doesn't provide any game engine (much less powered by the browser). It only hosts games for you. So you'd have to create your own game with the engine of your choice (RPGM, Unity, Godot, GMS2...) and upload it here. If it has HTML support, people could even play it directly from the browser like this one. Hope that helps!

(+1)

ah ok thanks. onto my bigger computer.

(+1)

Hi, had to make a new account since i lost the old one. Anyways how do you defeat the graveyard on the first try? The two Litches always give me trouble.

(Previous account was Felixthe7th)

(1 edit)

Oh hi! Well there are a few ways, but beating them first try isn't intended. I just left the option there because I know some people would definitively try and eventually succeed lol.

But if you want a tip, you could try stocking up on holy water before entering the graveyard.

(+1)

alright, back to grinding bois

(2 edits) (+1)

Yooooo just defeated the graveyard in chapter 3! Went broke investing in Mao’s daggers beforehand, but considering the loss of only 5 potions I never paid for in the process, I’ll take it! (Ik I said I’d get back to this like two weeks ago but I’m actually doing it now lmao)

Edit: I recommend making… certain unpleasant creatures unable to use Mana Drain when no one in the party has mana to give. It makes it easier than it should be.

Ohhh congrats xD

And don't worry. I still have a lot of edits to make before catching up lol. Should get to it soon now that Spirit Arrow's demo is out tho!

And well... I really wanted to do that, but I don't think it's possible without some plugins. The best I did was give Lianna and Jeanne a debuff when fighting wargs that make them more likely to be targeted, but I don't think I can use the player's stats in the enemy AI. I can only make enemies do stuff like use Mana Drain when their own MP is below a certain threshold and such. The only way of doing what you said would be scripting an event in the middle of combat like a cutscene that would check each character's MP and then decide if the enemy will make an extra turn using Mana Drain on one of them... Which I don't really like either.

(+1)

imagine a coding program not having an if/than/else script…

(1 edit)

Oh no, you don't get it... RPG Maker HAS plenty of if/than/else stuff. It's just that it's VERY restricted on how and when we can use those. Usually cutscenes are very free, but scripting stuff in combat, while it uses similar code to cutscenes, can get pretty clunky thanks to how it loads events in a certain order and thus can skip another, and enemy AI is defined by a very small set of parameters with thresholds and probability.

For example, with liches I set their enemy-specific AI to only start using Mana Drain from their moveset after they fall below 50% MP. That's how RPGM's combat coding works best. It can only get values from the enemy itself, however, and not from other enemies or the player characters.

Meanwhile with ogres I had to write the code down in the event windows of the fight itself, like it was a cutscene. Those scripted OUTSIDE their AI tab. What I did was set a debuff on Jeanne at the start of the fight that makes her 900% more likely to be targeted than Lianna or Mao for lore reasons, it has an automatic event that plays once it reaches 50% HP or lower so it uses the Wild Rage skill, which it also uses at any time you try using Cindy's Incense inside the fight. Those scripted events have a lot of programming freedom, letting me get variables from any entity inside the combat or even global switches/variables (like checking where in the story you're at), but since they work like cutscenes they play on top of the actual turn-based combat, and whenever I force an enemy to take an action it's essentially an extra turn. RPGM tends to glitch out when I stack several event windows that uses different parameters so in a cutscene-heavy fight like the liches it's not a very good idea, in my experience, to force the liches to take certain actions.

Maybe there's a solution for this without plugins, but in the end it was too much trouble that it's worth. Plus, you can consider it an extra layer of strategy to keep your characters at low MP to troll the liches lol. Anyway, I hope that clarifies things.

(1 edit) (+1)

So the only way you can make it take action based off the player characters stats is by making a break in the combat sequence and editing the player characters based off what the enemy should be doing at that point in time, which I’ve already learned 1, persists to the end of the fight or otherwise terminated by another command which itself again has conditional limits, 2, fails when a character dies. RPG Maker is a headache lmao I don’t blame ya. Guess we can’t look a gift Ogre in the mouth. (Ew, that’d be a gross gift)

In other news, accidentally lost my save yet-freaking again. I remember why I was struggling to come back to this.

(Don’t worry, it’s not your game, I just don’t think Safari is saving things right, I’ll use a different browser)

Yes that's about right. RPGM is great for people with zero coding skills and who just want to make a game with little attrition, but that also makes it pretty limited. For me it was very worth it, but there's a reason I'm using a professional engine for the next game xD

And oh gosh... Unfortunately playing in the browser has these risks.

Recently I learned you can even play the PC version on mobile with an emulator. I wonder if I should tell people playing the browser version on mobile that.

(+1)

i'm going to give up ;-; i didn't get the quest,i looked all the video of this game and looks like almost everyone didn't do this quest,i tried to follow the poem,i follow to the south when iwas span to the west,and then when i was span to the west,west to east,then to the west when i was span in north,to east to north,but i always come back to same spot,sorry for my bad english, i am from brazil,and i still confused ;-;

Oh gosh. Sorry about that.

It's a somewhat convoluted chain of sidequests so I expect most people didn't do them either. That said, only one person had this issue and they quickly solved it by simply following the instructions. Are you sure you're not just counting from the wrong room? Or mixing east and west up?

Either way, you can just save scum your way through, or follow the stones. (Yes, that's a trick that a few people caught on lol. Just go through the paths that have stones near them)

And don't worry, I'm Brazilian too.

(+1)

Oh! I didn't know that! Even though I'm sorry if I am causing trouble! It's becausei get confused so easy when it's about puzzle like this! And some of games don't even put tricks, it's like you have to find on your own, but thank you anyway! Also! I was thinking about how should I draw the ship of mao and Lianna! When I finished it, I will make sure to show  you in the Instagram!

Oh thank you! I'll be very happy to see it! xD

And don't worry. Sometimes I embarrass myself really bad in games with the simplest puzzles lol. Following a set of directions SHOULD be pretty simple, but even I got lost a few times during playtest by forgetting which line I was on or counting a verse too soon or too late.

(+1)

i know how you feel it, this puzzle sometimes like the game chrono tigger i took3 years to find the right way to out of the cave, that isn't was a puzzle. . . it was having four dragons and every dinossaur. . . .and they are so strong. . . .i don't regret play your game

Well that's good to hear!

Lucky that, even though the misty wood has pretty tough enemies, the encounter steps reset everytime you walk from a room to another, so if you bee-line to the exit you're very unlikely to be stopped by enemies.

That reminds me I never finished Chrono Trigger though!

(+1)

i am having problems going to the mountains,i did like the poem said but i always going back to the start

(1 edit)

Oh hi again! Well that's weird. I think only one other person had the issue, and they arrived there eventually. Are you counting from the first room or the second?

(1 edit) (+1)

I am counting from the second,i did like the poem said but,i am returning to the same place even i am doing it right.

I think we've found the issue xD

Start counting from the first room and we'll see what happens.

(+1)

ok! also i have some ideas from your game,if you want why don't you put some more events as couples of lianna and mao? (sorry i ship those two ;w;)

Ohh. You know, I really like the idea!

The story is so focused on paying their debt the two don't get a lot of time together. But that could work really well as post game content. Well, I'll keep that in mind whenever I get back to working in this game xD

(But you may be happy to know they get some quality time together in the second Huyuchi sidequest (^_-) )

Deleted 260 days ago

Monkey? I assume you mean the lost cat in a sidequest? If so it's in the north part of the city. Keep searching and I'm sure you'll find it ^^

(+1)

The sequel looks amazing. Can't wait to play it, and you are very talented at this.

Aww thank you <3

I wish I had more time (and skill) to program but I'm quite happy with how it's turning out. Hopefully it'll be fun to play, most importantly xD

(+1)

I've replayed the game about 5 times now

Wow I don't even know what to say. I made the game to be played twice and was afraid even that would be too boring ;-;

But well, I''m glad you liked my little game that much. The next will be a totally different genre but I hope it'll be just as fun!

(+1)

Do you work alone, or do you have some people helping with certain parts?

Oh I work basically solo. Though Witch Hat uses a lot of pre made asses from RPG Maker and I get some tilesets from forums. I also did "hire" a friend to make the title art since I suck at topography, and some people help playtest and check for typos, but most of the help I get is  from the player actually.

With my next game (Spirit Arrow) I'm using an engine that actually requires me to write code (Game Maker Studio 2) so I'm learning everything from zero, and all the visuals are hand drawn. The only help I'm getting is from tutorials online and free sound assets, and I'm probably getting the same guy to draw the title art again but that's it. So yeah, no wonder it's taking so long xD

(+1)

Well, now I've finished the game, I gotta say I wasn't expecting to like it so much at first, but it turned out to be a really good game, and I really liked a lot the characters.

I like that, since you don't have a main party member that has healing (apart from a certain side quest, well, technically 2), it makes you really rely on items, and since money is a big problem for most of the game, it really ask you to manage well your ressources. It makes for a much more interesting rpg, since most gives an easy access to healing and money.

Probably haven't found every side quest, and only the part one of the diarie, but I still did quite a lot.

(Btw, the game which will have Shida as a protagonist, will it be a prequel or a sequel?)

(1 edit)

Thank you for playing my little game to the end, and I'm happy you enjoyed it so much!

Yes the lack of healing was very much intended, so I'm glad you realized it. A few people were really bothered by having to use items to heal, probably because we're all used to just having healers in RPGs (and honestly, when I have one in my party, whenever I rely on items it feels like I'm playing the game wrong somehow xD). Giving Shida and Cindy healing was also supposed to remind the player of how disfunctional their party is, and especially with Shida I wanted to make it feel like the party was finally complete. (Fun fact, Cindy was actually supposed to join the party in an earlier draft of the story, but I figured being a merchant would be more interesting.)

I made it so you can only find the diary parts in order, and the 3rd and 4th parts are only available after the credits. So if you want to try tracking them down I'd suggest you try retracing your steps throughout your journey again. I made the secret side quest just for the completionist psychos like me tho, so don't feel pressure to do it xD

And the next game will be a sequel. It will take place soon after Huyuchi village's second quest.

(+1)

Amazing game but waaaaaah, the Sirasui tower is giving me a hard time

Thank you! I'm glad you've been enjoying my little game.

But oh well, I can see why. That tower only uses knowledge you already have, meaning there are no new tricks. It only mixes them up in a large navigation puzzle. Just remember what you have already been through, from deceiving teleporters, holes on the ground and that, sometimes, down is the way up.

I hope that helps! xD

(Also, there's a trick to know how high up you are, but I'm not sure if anybody has realized it yet.)

Oooooh, all this time I haven't paid attention to the little holes, I didn't realized you could use them. Nice.

I wonder if I could have done something to make them more visible. I did add some hints like the teleporter with no straightforward way of getting to and the rubble in the floor you fall to, but it's still a black hole in a dark place.

It's me again hehe...

Spoilers

Man....I thought if I win skam'mer I could save Mul... Now I feel more sad 🥲

and yes I'm replay the game and do all the fights

Hehe...

I'm sorry, but Skam'mer has the ultimate superpower: money xD

But well, you do get his wand, which is actually a really good weapon for Lianna. It doesn't deal as much dmg as the Spirit Staff, but it makes all her attacks super fast (and, as consequence of how the engine works, it also makes it really easy to escape from fights, since the odds are based on your team's speed compared to the enemies' lol)

A weapon can't replace a friend  😂

I just won the battle of Yusha and Im pround of myself. 😁😁😁

Ohhhh! You've beaten the game's ultimate challenge now, and I (probably) won't make a harder boss later so... congratulations! xD

If you want some lore about his sword (and haven't already done so), you can get the mithril orb from Shida's second quest, talk to the Fire Spirit and then to chief Eino. That may or may not be foreshadowing for the next game ;)

(1 edit) (+1)

Wait did i took the sword in my invetory ? I never noticed ...

I just hope I didn't sell it accidently 🥲

Thanks for the tip 😁

And of course thank you for making this game it was amazing.

How can we do that. I mean how can we fight with him.

I tried making a mobile version way back but didn't manage, unfortunately. But I may try again later. That said, the browser version works on mobile no problem, just open the game page on your mobile browser and it should run fine.

oh thanks but i dont if it saves if so thank you so much tiagox i realy apreciated this hope you game can be the most wonderfull game ever i hope that you be a famous person too!!!(note: if i have money i would gave to you but i dont have;-;)

Oh gosh... Don't worry, your comment is already enough xD

The game saves in the browser too, tho some people lost their save files way back. No idea why, if it's related to the browser cookies or your Itch account. Either way, it's been months since the last time it happened so hopefully it won't happen to you either.

Btw if you want to skip to the point you were in the story (and not replay everything), you can just start a new game and interact with the window in Lianna's bathroom first thing. That you let you skip to any chapter you want.

Tiagox the migthy creator, the one above all, the creator of everything, the destroyer of all, i beg of you to answer my prayer and guide me..

(no spoiler just a hint)

Oh gosh I'm sorry you're going through this lol

You did figure the solution out as intended. You just have to enter the Misty Woods and follow the directions given in the poem (2 directions per line, 12 in total).

N N S W W E N W N E N N

Are you sure you didn't get anything wrong? Or maybe you're counting entering the first area as the first "north"?

I just crossed the area 2 times again to be sure, and it works fine.

i thank you but i am now too weak to deafeat  skam'mer i will proceed to restart this game as i will not accept deafeat, thank you for your informations this will help me a lot

No need  to restart the game tho. You can just beat it normally and win all the impossible fights in NG+ so you don't have to grind.

also i whant to say that the game is Awesome! i was really surprise by how good the story was, for an rpg maker game. This is probably the best one i have ever played and will ever play, the charachters are really charming and they all have well maded personalities that feels realistic! As well of the humoristic side of the game and i can see how much effort you made by adding complete drawings, i don't know if you also made the monsters but if you did, i say that they are fantastic.

as for the story, the developpement of the characters can be seen as they grow from there experiences (confidence, love and trust) to each other!

i don't know how old you are, but keep up the good work its fantastic! i don't really know if there are really any downsides.. execept for the fact that its a pretty old style of 2d but its normal since you used rpg maker and  you can't really change it so for me the game is the best rpg maker game :)!

(I hope you're not like 30 cuz that would be a bit creepy that in your free time you make love stories about a trans girl and catboy in there teenage years)

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed my little game! <3

Yes it did take quite a lot of work. I'm not sure if I would've manged if RPG maker wasn't such an easy engine to work with lol

It was also my very first game, as you can imagine. It was originally a novel I wrote at 18 as some sort of "lessons I wish I had learned when I was 15". It went through a few iterations and, after failing to publish it in my country, I decided to turn it into a game back in 2021. It almost became a visual novel, but I thought the RPG inspired setting would fit RPG maker well and... I guess it did xD

My next game is gonna be a metroidvania with Shida as the protagonist, and also have more focus on the gameplay part. Learning actual coding from scratch is being really painful but hopefully a playable demo will be out in a few months.

I'm 23 right now btw! I think it's normal for older artists to write stories with younger characters, especially if your target audience is young too, but I get what you mean. It does start feeling a little weird if you think too much about it lol

MICHEAL DON'T LEAVE ME HERE!!, MICHEAL HELP ME

Defeated Yusha using lightning dart and powerful blow.

Somehow defeated them with my team at level 13.

Nice game  :D

Nice! Congrats! I balanced him around a lv 15 team but at lv 13 you do unlock everyone's strongest skill. Not sure if you needed them tho lol

Either way, I hope this little game was fun to you! ^^

(Also)finally defeated Sk'ammer.

(I used the debug window to goto ch 9 in new game+)

But my resources is almost dried up and my financial balance is not happy. No wander, Lianna calls him a scammer.

Lol well, congratulations! xD

At least by beating him you get one of the best weapons in the game for Lianna. It doesn't deal the most damage, but is guaranteed to always hit first.
