Like, I get that you're likely coming from the perspective of someone who just plays the game and doesn't know what goes into making it. Just Google questions like 'why do games get delayed so often', and 'what goes into making a game'. I guarantee you the answers you find there apply to me, and literally every other game dev with very few exceptions.
Anyways, for you, I think it'll be better if you just play every other release instead of every release if you want to be able to sit down and enjoy a lot of content at once.

The original version of the game actually did use a RGB shading method, but there's nothing equivalent in MV that doesn't lag the game considerably, so I had to switch to manually making each colour.

As mentioned, speak to Arlene, then visit the hobo area and get their help, before returning to Arlene! You'll need to sleep periodically to move events forward.

There definitely will be at least an explanation for where the player character comes from eventually. If you are impatient, you can play the original version of the game to learn about that. As for what happened to the world? I, too, would like to learn more about that.

As many as is appropriate! There's no set limit! Most likely it'll be 1 good end per portrait NPC with 2+ routes I think.

You must have rescue team for that(important person is Arlene) for successful rescue and counting game with Cassie
