Games of isolation, horror, and perseverance
Here's what you need to know:
- Wretched & Alone is a system for creating games about isolation, fear, and the struggle for survival in the face of overwhelming odds, based on The Wretched.
- Make a game that uses the Wretched & Alone system (check out the free SRD here).
- Your game doesn't have to follow the system exactly, as long as it embodies the spirit of Wretched & Alone games. Pull the system apart, see what breaks and what you can change, and use it to tell stories that I could never conceive of.
- Feel free to submit multiple entries!
- Make sure to tweet your submission @pangalactic so I can shout about it!
- This is just for fun - there's no judging and no prizes, though I'll be creating a Collection of Wretched & Alone games that will appear on my itchio profile.
- I encourage you to put a price on your games, because work should be rewarded. I also encourage you to make use of the Community Copies initiative, so that those in financial need are still able to play these games.
- If you want to call your entry a Wretched & Alone game, don't forget to include the legal language laid out in the SRD, and use the logo if you want to!
- Nazis, racists, transphobes, homophobes, and other bigots are explicitly prohibited from taking part in this jam or creating Wretched & Alone games. In fact, I'd rather you didn't play my games at all. If you have to ask whether this statement is about you, it is.
