Tas Game Makers are excited to present TasJam 2025! The jam is intended to line up with our local monthly meetups. The start being on Wednesday the 26th of November coinciding with our November monthly meet up at Hobart Brewing Co - at 5:30pm.

Jam end date is Tuesday 9th December at 6pm, and we are aiming to have another meet up on the Wednesday the 10th of December for presentations.

We encourage in-person jamming so you're welcome to join us at the meet up on the 26th to help form a team if you want. Otherwise, the jam is open to all Tasmanians and you can jam online.

This time we have not been able to secure a venue in time. We wanted to make sure a jam happened in 2025, we know there has been interest! Instead we plan to coincide the start and end of the jam with the social meet ups. We will do our best to give suggestions for where to work in-person, such as libraries, co-working spaces, other community spaces. You are of course welcome to find your own venue, or work from home.

Voting: As per usual, TasJam does not offer prizes or awards of any kind, we are however using itch.io's voting system to vote on elements such as being on-theme, artwork, fun factor and originality. Ultimately voting is optional and encouraged if you want to support the teams.

Theme is: "Glass Half Full"

Jam Rules:

  • No illegal content - try to keep it clean and friendly, these games may be on display to the public
  • Generative AI strongly discouraged, if anything coding assistance, not vibe coding
  • Similarly, web3 and crypto games we discourage and won’t use at promotional events
  • Free to use purchased assets if you wish, but also feel free to ask for help from others who are artists
  • See our code of conduct, particularly for at our meetups, on discord server
  • You can re-use code and assets from previous projects, but it must be a new concept to something before, not say a slight alteration or mod of your existing work
  • Speaking of mods, mods are welcome for existing games made by others
