What is a game jam? Well, a game jam is an event where participants try to make a video game from scratch within a certain timeframe. This creates a ton of learning opportunities in a fun way! You can learn how to program, draw, animate, design and much, much more. We as a study association thought it would be a cool way to motivate people to create something small and thus learn a lot in the progress. A lot of people enjoy playing games, so why not have a go at creating them?

The theme for this jam is:

Side Effects

1. The game must not include any NSFW and offensive/discriminatory content and must follow Itch.io TOS.
   
2. The game must be submitted as a web-build. Think along the lines of HTML5 or WebGL.
3. We strongly encourage you to not use any generative AI work. However if you do decide to use it for your submission, please include for what parts of the game you have used AI.
4. You can only use assets you have the commercial license for.

For every submission, there will be a rating delivered by a select few judges, as well as a community vote. The ratings will be based on the following criteria:

• Fun: Is your game fun and enjoyable to play?
• Originality: Does your game stand out in some way?
• Use of Theme: How well does your game make use of the given theme?

There will be two prizes awarded:

1. Judges' Vote: A prize determined by the ratings from our panel of judges.
2. Community Vote: A prize determined by the votes from the community.

We encourage everyone to play each other's games and cast your votes to help decide the Community Vote winner!

Voting will end on Friday the 12th at 14:00 (GMT +2).

On Friday the 12th (time to be determined), there will be a small award ceremony to announce the winners.
