WELCOME TO THE PLUG JAM 2027!

Create a game, follow the theme, and most importantly—have fun!

Welcome to the Plug Jam 2027, a 10‑day game‑making challenge built around a single theme. This is the third jam I’m hosting, and I’m excited to see what you all come up with. If you have any questions, feel free to drop them in the comments. This is the second jam in the annual Plug Jam series, previous jam.

Theme

The theme will be revealed when the jam begins.

Until then, feel free to warm up your tools, gather your team, and get ready to brainstorm. Once the theme drops, you’ll have full freedom to interpret it however you like—literally, metaphorically, symbolically, emotionally, or in any direction you please. Trust your instincts and make a cool game! Also, the theme is only for extra points so if you really don't have any ideas feel free to skip it.

Content Policy

You may use any free or paid assets/tools that you have the rights to use. Generative AI of any kind is not allowed for creating your game. Whenever possible, making your own assets—or teaming up with someone who can—will help your originality score and make your project feel more personal.

Voting

The seven voting criteria are:

Overall -> overall how good is the game?

Fun -> how enjoyable was the game?

Theme -> how well did the game express or interpret the theme?

Originality -> how unique or creative was the concept?

Graphics -> how strong were the visuals?

Audio -> how effective was the sound design and music?

Replay Value -> does the game hold up on multiple playthroughs?

Narrative -> how well was the story or narrative delivered?
