Maximum Monster Month! (MonsterMax for short) is a month-long game jam centering on creating games that prominently feature monsters and monster-human hybrids (sometimes referred to as “demi-humans”) as characters! This is our second year: you can take a look at last year's entries by clicking here.
We're happy to give thanks to our sponsors for providing additional prizes for Maximum Monster Month!
First, we'd like to welcome our newest sponsor: Astralore! Astralore are the creators of Monstrata Fracture, which was originally created for the first Maximum Monster Month and has since become a fully fledged project! You can check them out at:
Our sponsor from last year, M.B Saunders, is also returning this year! M.B. Saunders is the creator of Angels with Scaly Wings—a unique visual novel set in a world populated by dragons. You can find out more about Angels with Scaly Wings at:
There are two types of prizes: a cash prize and rewards! The prize money of $75 will be awarded to the first place winner (chosen by our panel of judges). The first place winner will also receive a set of charms featuring characters from Monstrata Fracture (solo devs get a set of 3, and teams get 1 per member, limit 5).
The second place winner will receive a hardback copy of Monster Girl Encyclopedia (volume 1) and a deluxe edition of Angels With Scaly Wings! Teams will choose to whom the prizes will be distributed, but each member will still be recognized as a winner.
A third honorary winner will be chosen by public vote based on five factors: characters, creativity, graphics, story, and music. This honorary winner will receive an I ♡ CUTE MONSTERS lanyard (featuring characters from Monstrata Fracture) for each team member (limit 5).
For the purposes of this jam, a monster is any non-human creature (often of mythological or cultural origin), or a part-human hybrid of such creature. Everything from vampires and mermaids to changelings and aliens is okay; go crazy! Original concept races are fine, too (as long as you have the rights to use them, of course)!
