In this jam, you goal is to make a game in a incremental(also known as idle-incremental) genre, in a week.
To put it simply - You do simple actions (most of the times it's clicking or just waiting), and numbers rise. Incremental games also often include idle elements and upgrades. If you want some great examples of incremental games, check out Cookie Clicker, Candy Box 2, Antimatter Dimensions, games on galaxy or maybe even the previous jam.
Your deadline is on 27th April, exactly 8 days from the start, but you also get 3 extra hours in case you miss the deadline by a bit or don't manage to submit in time.
The theme is - Micro
Feel free to interpret it however you want, and have fun with it, bend and stretch it in any way you feel like.
Overall - How the game is overall. This criteria is what decides the main winner, and is what most attention should be put in.
Innovation - Is there some cool new mechanic this game introduced? Maybe it's a twist on the formula? After all, we are here to make new and unique games.
Music & Sounds - Does this game sound good? Or... maybe it has cool sound effects? This ranks those.
Art & Effects - Did the game stun you with it's beautiful artstyle or mind-boggling visual effects? You can give it a good rating here then!
Fun & Balance - Is the game even fun? Is it balanced? Would you like to play this game again outside of the jam? You can judge it here.
The ranking period will last 7 days from the end of submission period and by the end of ranking the winner will be decided.
Anyone who wishes to rank will be given a queue of 5 games, after ranking at least 3 games in the queue you get an ability to rank games outside of the queue. It is to ensure that all games get a minimum amount of votes each.
Q: Are there any rules?
A: There aren't any rules with the exception of NSFW games having to explicitly disclose their age rating somewhere before you are able to play. Other than that, everything within Itch.io's ToS is allowed! (Which means you can mostly make anything within legal boundnaries)
Q: Is there a team size limit?
A: There is no team size limit.
Q: Can I use third-party assets/reuse my own assets?
A: You are allowed to use any assets you have the right to use. You may also reuse any code/assets you have lying around, on condition that majority of the game is made during the jam.
Ownership to games you make for this jam remain yours/your team's.
