In the name of Evil, GDS present the most Evil thing of all: giving people an excuse to not do revision over the Easter holidays!

The penultimate GDS Game Jam of the academic year, over the next five weeks you can work either solo or in a team to create any sort of game. You can submit an unfinished game or prototype as well as a full game, so long as it was made within the 5-week period. Don't worry if you're not Evil enough to join, as we will be hosting another game jam after exams.

Theme

This Game Jam has two themes:

  • The Meta-Theme is "Time-wasting", matching with our Evil nature.
  • The (formerly) Hidden Theme is "LUCK".

Rules

  • Any sized team is allowed, including solo teams.
  • The submission deadline is 4:30PM on Wednesday the 7th of May, half an hour into that week's session.
  • The voting period will last until 4:30PM on Friday the 9th of May.
  • The majority of the game should be made within the five week period, however using pre-made libraries and general code is allowed.
  • Using pre-made assets (art & music) is allowed so long as you have the rights to use them.

Rating

Submissions will receive an overall rating based on 5 equally-weighted criteria. It is up to the voters to decide what each criteria means to them:

  • Hidden Theme (Luck)
  • Meta Theme (Time-waster-ness)
  • Enjoyment
  • Innovation
  • Style & Atmosphere
