THE COOLEST GAME JAM EVER IS BACK, AND MORE AWESOME THAN EVER. Make a game in 2 weeks, base it on a theme, put some dumb shit in it and a swedish guy might play it in like 10 years . Plus, you'll get feedback and ratings from EPIC GAMER JAM JUDGES and any other fecal enjoyers who also participated. It's like a BATTLE TO THE DEATH but with videogames. What's not to love?

This year's theme is...

Hairless, follicly challenged, or put simply, bald. Your goal is to make the most hairless game imaginable. Please for the love of god don't just make a bunch of Mike games.

THERE'S ALSO RULES AGAIN!!!!!!

yeah listen i know rules are annoying but if i don't add them we won't be able to show any of these on twitch

1 - Follow the Twitch Community Guidelines and Itch.io Acceptable Use Policy
2 - If there's loud noises and/or flashing images in your game, warn us beforehand so our skulls don't explode. please.
3 - Have a downloadable Windows 10/11 version so Joey can actually play it. Also having web build isn't required, but is helpful.
4 - Don't have a bunch of divisive or heavy topics or any of that stuff.
5 - Your game and anything you make specifically for it has to be made within the 2-week submission window.
6 - Credit whatever you use, either in the game or on it's page, that way we can see where all the cool stuff comes from!
7 - Use the theme as a major part of the game. Don't just slap it on.
8 - Have the language default to English, pretty sure most of the mod team can read that one.
9 - Only 3 people max can work on your game, otherwise it'd be too good.
10 - No AI-generated stuff. AI doesn't have a skeleton, humans do, that makes humans cool and makes AI suck.
11 - Standalone videogames only. No mods, books, tabletop games or whatever else.
12 - Don't add tons of new stuff to your game during the voting period. Just do little bug-fixes and stuff.
13 - Make something for this jam and this jam only. You must fully dedicate yourself to the fecalfunny.
14 - Test your game properly and get it in a working state before submitting it. Can't play a game that's unplayable.
15 - Put a skeleton in there. Just somewhere in the game.
16 - Make sure OBS can capture your game properly, that way chat can see it.
17 - Try not to take jokes about other people/streamers too far.

FAQ

Does my game need a web build?

No, but it helps to have one. Makes judging faster and a little safer, plus it gives Joey an alternative if something goes wrong with the downloadable version.

Will everything get played?

Probably not. We need to limit how many games get played on-stream, otherwise Joel wouldn't be done playing them all until like 2040.

What about VEERUS? ALERTA ALERTA

Anything submitted (that isn't a super obvious virus) gets thoroughly scanned, monitored and tested to make sure nothing nasty gets through. No Windows destruction happening today, unless Joel's PC decides to break for no reason, which it probably will.

Voting period?

After the 2-week submission/development period is done, there's another 2 weeks that lets the jam judges, you, and other submitters/contributors to vote on the games. That way we know how fecal the funnies are, democratically.

Where do I talk about the jam? Is there a Discord?

There's a community tab here on this Itch page for discussion about the jam. Find teams, ask questions, shitpost, whatever. Just be nice.

Isn't this basically just ShroomJam?

ShroomJam is a Vinny thing, FrenJam is a Joel thing. FrenJam is also a little easier with longer dev time, less-strict rules, and an emphasis on shitposting and chaos. ShroomJam is for people who take themselves seriously, this is for people who watch Joel streams.
