Evaluation Criteria

1️⃣ Relevance to the Theme: Clearly associated with Europe’s history, culture, or future visions.
2️⃣ Creativity & Originality: Brings a fresh, engaging, and unique perspective.
3️⃣ Presentation & Polish: Well-structured, visually appealing, and polished experience.
4️⃣ Fun & Engagement: Encourages interaction, learning, or exploration in an enjoyable way.
5️⃣ Sound Design: Uses music and sound effects effectively to enhance immersion.

🛠️ Wildcard: Open Source or European-Owned Tools

As an optional challenge, we encourage participants to use open-source tools or tools from European-owned companies for their project. This is a great way to promote sustainable development practices and support the open-source community or European innovation.

This wildcard is entirely optional and will not affect your rating in the jam. If you choose to participate, please list the tools you used in your submission.

Rules & Guidelines

✅ Theme: Your submission must be clearly associated with Europe—this could be historical, cultural, or even a vision of the future!
✅ Allowed Content: Games, tools, quizzes, creative assets—be as innovative as you like! 
❌ Restrictions: No NSFW or horror games—keep it positive and accessible!
✅ AI Content: AI-generated content is allowed, but it must be clearly flagged.
✅ Platform Requirement: Submissions must be available for Windows and Linux (Mac is optional). Web builds are preferred for easier access.
✅ Itch.io TOS: All submissions must follow itch.io’s Terms of Service

⚖️ Legal 

All game rights remain with the creator and do not transfer to the jam organizer. By submitting, you retain full ownership of your work.

The Europe Jam is not officially connected to any European government or institution. The jam creator's goal is to support the idea of Europe and promote the development of creative projects inspired by its history, culture, and future.
