Welcome to the dot big bang Trick or Treat Design Challenge, an opportunity for everyone to show off their design skills during the spookiest time of the year! 

How do I participate?

  The easiest way is to start remix this game! You'll find the systems you need to let players collect candy in the spaces you build, as well as instructions on how to get started and what does what. More advanced options include remixing Doodle Safari or even Combat Example, because both these games also have collectibles - the type of interactable object that makes the candy that players can pick up. 

  Start building your game! Think about how players will wander through the space you give them, and take advantage of the thousands of freely shared models (voxel objects) to try things out in the space.

  Try inviting friends! You can play AND edit a game in multiplayer, so you can bring in as many people was you want to help make your dream into a real game that others can play right away! 

  Submit your game! You only need to share the URL of the published game, but if you want to go the extra mile and embed your game on the itch.io page, check out this guide!

How do I get help?

  Join the dot big bang Discord and give yourself the game jammer role. There are always folks there to help, and we'll have live office hours in the voice channel at 1 pm PDT on Wednesday, October 4th and Wednesday, October 11th.
