Cool concept! I really like this take on blackjack, and overall the sound, animation and everything is good.

I think the only thing for me is there is a readability issue.

It might be the text amount, font, or lack of symbols to know what cards do and I really gotta read the cards.

Maybe just a me problem haha.

don't worry i have the same problem

Thanks!
I agree, the font is not very readable at the moment, I intend to make some changes to it soon

Played a game. I like the basic idea, but the lack of any progression mechanic and the sheer randomness means I'd try it once or twice and lose interest. I'm not really the core audience for this kind of game, to be sure.

(+1)

Hi! We played your game on stream and really enjoyed it!

(+1)

Thank you!!

Hey Moss. If you would like help with the pixel art for the game, please reach out.

(+1)

this is pretty cool! but man i suck at this game lol

(+1)

I just loved it. It mixes blackjack with cool features. Brilliant game, I also liked the background music.

Thank you very much, the music is by Random Mind on YouTube if you want to check out more of their work:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvjkkwGL7g092E1oV7IMffw

Gee willikers I'm praying this gets an Android release. I need this game in my pocket! Regardless, wishlisted on steam too <3

(+1)

Thanks! Steam will be the first release but I hope to work on mobile afterwards

(+1)

I love it. So many stupid unexpected cards to completely return the game. Pretty literally too. Will wait patently to for the release! Thought of trying to expand on other card games like Poker? That Poker opponent made me remind of what it could look like.

Thank you!
You should check out Balatro on Steam - it's a similar idea but with Poker instead of Blackjack

(+1)

Nothing like it.Some cards are so chaotic that I think a 12 year old designed them. That's a compliment

(+1)

Thanks hahahaha

(+1)

Once I had a memory card and I set it to a negative 8 so I ended up with 10 negative 8 cards and always ended up making it to the end of my deck with a negative amount

(+1)

that's a run ender.

(+1)

I could easily see myself getting lost in this game for hours! Health regenerate was a little slow since I didn't put any heart cards in my deck, but that is all about play style! Definitely keeping this one on my radar.

(+1)

Great game! My one problem is that the enemy can really stack up on shield. One time, I had someone (the teacher I think) who had 130 shield.

(+1)

I think it's fun, but is it possible to lose?

(+1)

Yes, to answer your question it is ;-;

(+1)

this was great! cant wait for the 6 more areas!

Thanks! Lots more got added to the current three areas in today's update as well

(+1)

You can just reload the tab when you lose to redo the battle, is this intended?

Yep, intended! Later we will have seed sharing, this way means that everyone has the same chances at the same seed

but you can than predict the order of the cards, basically giving you free "hallway pass" if you put enough work into it. yes, if you change something, your score might change, but unless a card is burnt, or you have rigged the card order differently, you can just write down the order of cards, and maybe even predict when your opponent will bust.

Yep! Have fun

(+1)

this is ingenious blackjack improvement! 10/10! waiting for release

Thanks! Lots of new stuff just got added in today's update, which may help you while you wait for full release

(+1)

Are you supposed to be able to click your opponent's Graveyard card or is that a bug?

(+1)

It's intentional! The player is powerful

(+1)

What fun - looking forward for the full release!

(+4)

Very fun and addicting! Twice now I've encountered a bug when clicking the "hide/view" button (eye icon) during the resolution of a card. Both times it blocked me from making further progress, as I was then unable to select a card to resolve the currently played card.

(+1)

Thank you! This bug will be fixed in the next update

(+1)

I appreciate your response! It's on my steam wishlist. I look forward to following future updates! I can already imagine so many fun features. The game is a real delight.

(+3)

Uh.... The lovers is just infinite cards

And if your lucky so is wheel of fortune

*you're

(+2)

I got addicted is that bad

(2 edits)

It's ok as long as you stick to the pretend casino ;)

(+3)

Thoroughly enjoyable game. I've wishlisted it on steam and can't wait to see a full release

Thanks for the support!

(+2)

This game is great and very unique,  I love the mechanics and how different cards can play well with other certain cards. I was just wondering, are you are up to take suggestions for things like enemies and cards in the future?

Yup definitely, there is a suggestions channel in the Discord server!

(+1)

Really like this game so far! I suppose this is the difficulty of programming games of chance like this but it does often feel like the higher level opponents tend to draw the exact card they need, often getting 19s,20s, and 21s with minimal risk, which can feel frustrating.

going against the bouncer and he got 5 blackjacks in a row. not that he got 5 21's in a row, he literally pulled a jack and a heart 5 times in a row. come on man.

it is now up to 8 I am going insane how are these decks programmed for it to work like this

his entire deck consisted almost entirely of jacks, aces, and 21 cards. how am I meant to beat this lmao the round ended and he had 42 shield and full health despite being down to a quarter health at one point

The Bouncer's starting deck consists of a Twenty One of Spades and 2x Ten of Nothings... What did you feed him?

(+1)

Was extraordinarily unlucky with the reverse card in my deck i guess lol. He got my jack and I think another 21 of spades. Then an SD card and yellow card

This is great and challenging!

I've run into a few bugs:

- Business Card being played when opponent only has a locked card creates a softlock! (Locked card was the 11 from the Tarot card if that makes a difference)

- I've also run across a senario when hitting HIT the same time a Special Card effect is resolving causes HIT to be grayed out and forcing me to Stand.    Maybe this was from an opponents card and I didn't notice?

Thanks - I have fixed these bugs for the next update, coming soon!

(-1)

"Dungeons and Drunkards" would be a better name, but very nice game otherwise

(1 edit)

The collector is traced from the trade offer meme lol

The bouncer is traced from the persuadable bouncer meme, neat :D

Good eye ;)

(+1)

I have seen hundreds of memes so I noticed stuff like that easily :)

(+1)

Beat the demo. Very nice! I usually get too frustrated with strategy games to give it a second try after a loss, but not so with this game-- it was engaging and fun, and had enough "random" elements to feel more flexible. The art direction and writing are great too :3

(+1)

Yay, thank you!

(+1)

It's so sick when the enemy has 104 shield :)

(+1)

Dis-Card softlocks the game when clicking the eye icon while asked to select a card to remove. Love the game and cards!

Fixed for the next update, thanks for reporting though!!

(1 edit) (+1)

Kanban card sometimes softlocks you if you click the card pile while selecting which card to put it above

Another thing, the manager dealt 23 damage to me despite his score being 21 and mine being 20.

(+1)

Did the manager have any club cards? On a 21, having a two of clubs would've meant he dealt 23 damage.

Ohh, I was only paying attention to the damage but he did have club cards. Thanks for clearing that up for me!

(+1)

This game is great, can't wait for the full!

Is this normal

Partially? It looks like they used the swap card on your tarot. Forget which one exactly it is, but it obscures your opponents cards and triples your damage. It probably shouldn't interact like that, though.

completely intended, manager stole XVIII The Moon which shrouds opponent's (your) cards and manager does triple damage

(+1)

full game will own

(+1)

i wish it to be available on xbox too i would happily buy and play it for hours

(+1)

this game is pretty fun, would love a version that's installable on PC but as it is it's an awesome little online distraction!

(+2)

Thanks! The demo is downloadable on Steam too

This game was so cool and amazing. I love the concept of the entire game and i cant wait for the full release but a little problem i hated on the game was the last guy in the basement and how i had to do a hour long fight with him cause we both kept healing constantly but other than that this game is super fun and entertaining to me and others

Super fun game!

Bug: If you have your deck open and click on the open space to return to the game, but click over the hit or stand buttons, then it won't let you click that button.

Bug(?): If the teacher takes a wheel of fortune from you with library card, when she plays it you can click it as though you played it.

(+1)

actually you can activate on click effects of your opponent's cards if you have advantage

(1 edit) (+1)

Fun game, it's got the goal of blackjack (get 21 or get cloase to it) but because the playstyle is different (both you and your opponent are playing at the same time) You could just stand on 16 or 15 instead depending if the opponent stood on 17 or 18. (It's better to take the 1, 2 or 3 points of damage instead of recieving 17 or 18 points of damage) because you will recover your health in the future.
Also just a personal critique, but destroying a card permanently after the 2nd or 3rd encounter is way to early in my opinion. Since you haven't developed your deck to be bigger than intended, or found a card that doesn't help your type of deck build. (Maybe when moving to the next level (like Tarvern to Basement) It'd cost you to give up a card in your deck as payment perhaps?)

Excited for the full release, wishing you all the best in development!

(+1)

Thank you!

I agree, it is quite early to remove a card, but I kind of like it as it makes you think about which are the best/worst values for a card to have in regular blackjack really early in the game

I think removing a card as often as you can right now is really good, because you can just remove the tens and nines

(+2)

This was really fun to play and the seeing the weird cards and new (to black jack) mechanics kept me on my toes :)

Thank you! Lots more coming soon
