one thing about this game that kinda annoys me is how influental is RNG, at normal "pragmatic" playthrough it's (mostly) fine, but if you want to build something specific, especially complicated ones that needs a lot of ingredients (like the advanced staffs), it takes large amount of luck to get it built before you either die or suddenly win the game lol (maybe introduce endless mode just to test builds?). Heck, sometimes i can't even get the silver sword before i either die/win lol. And for this reason building "simple" uncomplicated builds like vampire/hammer/spike builds is actually much easier and more consistent because less crafting is required.

Especially it felt after the new update add more items that adds a lot to the RNG thing, I kept failing to create staff of unhealing/the staff of luck bcs of this. Maybe introduce some more RNG management besides rerolling items?

Magic staff got to be my favorite item so far.

Imagine getting 100% crit for a few second instead of infinite scaling.

Which is the better potion stack?

  

The first does:

28 Enemy Poison

12 Self Poison

2 Regen


The Second does: 

16 Enemy Poison

0 Self Poison

8 Regen


I usually go with the second version, since I generally want to survive longer if I am doing a poison build. But what do you guys think?

For the first one, your enemy takes 28 / 2 sec, and you take 10 / 2 sec. creating a 18 health diff / 2 sec

For the second one, your enemy takes 16 / 2 sec, and you heal 8 / 2 sec. creating a 24 health diff / 2 sec

So the second one is definitely better.

both are bad, regen potion at the bottom in case the enemy doesnt use healing

Came across someone playing this amazing combination. No apparent ability to do damage, but amazing staying power. I suspect it won against some builds simply by outlasting fatigue and counting on fatigue to kill the opponent.

I managed to do enough poison damage to outpace its poison removal, just barely.

The rank number looks off when I went from silver to gold

I expected the number to go from 97 to 100, jumps to 0 then increase to gold 4.

Instead the number actually go down, from 97 and counts down to 4.

It does not affect the gameplay, and I won't be too bother if it stay this way. It just feel counter intuitive and unintentional

Love the chibi art and the new sprites! ❤️ So cute!

I suggest adding panties as items!

For instance, 

Clean panties --> 0.5 poison cleanse per 2 second

Striped panties --> +5 armor and 3% extra health

Black panties --> +0.5 vampirism to adjacent vampire items

Is there a max attack speed on weapons? How are multiple buffs calculated? I had 2 Vampiric Gloves, 1 regular glove and three fanny packs boosting a Bloodthorne. But it did not look like it was attacking fast enough. I think it should have been attacking 10 times a second.

It stacks additively. Let's say you stack enough vampirism to reach 60% speed on the Vampiric Gloves. Then those add to 120%, the Gloves of Haste give 35%, the fanny packs together 30%. Sum is 185%, means it attacks almost 3 times as fast. That's fast, but not 10 times a second.

Just advanced to diamond. One thing I must say is: Hammer is EXTREMELY OP! The ranked game becomes so boring because stunning opponent 1s with 40% chance makes all the other builds vanished. You don't even need staggers(in fact staggers make the game harder because of spikes), just the damn HAMMER and tons of GLOVES, BANANAS and YELLOW POTIONS! Your opponent will NOT have a chance to move! What makes it even more OP is that you can get hammer easily in early game with only 8 golds, and once you equipped it, the SLAUGHTER begin. You can easily win 4-6 battles until you meet some other badass builds like all defense or elite vampire build that only the luckiest gamers can have. But who cares, just 2 more win for ranking up. BTW, lost a few times because opponent's hammer build was with more gloves(or double hammers), so always make sure your hammer build outspeeds others. 


One build for reference. Very flexible. In order to get that 4*10% speed bonus from bags as well as crit bonus, you need such arrangement.


This is a hard battle against spike+vampire build. You can see from the opponent's buffs that all equipments are stunned nearly permanently, while my hammer build is not even at its best.



Same thing happened to a poison instant-kill build. You can see from my debuff that the opponent made very few moves. You may argue that their builds are far from the best it could be, but as I said: I can have my hammer build for every single run, how about other builds?


Hammer is bugged and will be fixed tomorrow. However, there are multiple builds that beat it.

Add a way to see crafting recipes you have used before, and also a way to see if an item is used in a crafting recipe, if so how many, and howmany different recipes it is used in.

I think I found a cheese. If you play offline, it will make you battle yourself, and more often than not, you will win because you win draws. So you just go back online when you're at 9 wins, and you just have to win your last one for full win and health.

Loving the 0.2.1 update so far. The infinite armor stacking from shield of valor was quite irritating, happy to see that fixed. Also, clarification on how food items stack was much appreciated. Keep up the good work!

this game is like minecraft tbh

I'm WILDLY tired, so I may have missed it, but a control scheme key of some sort would be lovely. I'm playing on a touch screen and tossing everything in the shop. Admittedly, the wildly tired thing may also be a factor.

Hi! I am having the same issue. I had played ranked last week and had ratings on both characters and now it is showing "???". I played two more ranked games today, but no matter how many trophies I get, it always gives +0 rank.

Aside from that, loving the game! :)

The server handling the rankings is currently overwhelmed by the player count. We are working on a solution!

My device abruptly shutted down halfway through the game, now I can't start the game.

Restarted device and the game, the game crashes at waiting screen.

It apparently corrupted your savefile. I don't know how to delete files in the browser... Maybe you could switch to the Steam version?

I managed to start the game in 0.2.0c patch file, but its very laggy on my desktop.

Try clearing cookies?

I'm playing the game on Itchio app, not sure if there's a way to clear cookies.

Clear the app's cache, depends on your OS but you can usually do this by hold pressing on the app icon until a menu appears.

I followed your instructions and cleared the app's cache and cookies, but it doesn't work.

Maybe it has something to do with the game files? I still can't access the game even after reinstall the game.

Feature request: Please update the cooldown values based on surrounding items, the way that (for instance) the damage ranges update.

Also, please consider previewing the changes before entering into a battle, rather than only showing them in-battle.

i think this is a copy of backpack hero lol

it certainly takes a lot of inspiration of backpack hero but it has many key differences that set it apart.

indeed but still lots of copy stuff from backpack hero,  super auto pets and some luck and creativity but still its pretty obvious that maybe you like this game or defend games when hate comes by.

just had a bug where I played my first game against someone 60hp and much more items than possible

Is this planned as pay to win or how? There is name your own price, how does that work out, when the game is released. You push steam, but will it still be on itch, or only as a demo?

Online PvP are often pay to win and I found nothing indicating one way or the other how the game is planned. And I can't draw a conclusion from your other game, as this is not out of demo stage either.

This looks like I might want to play it. Though the PvP is a bit ... let's just say, to someone like me, a story mode would not hurt.

Also, do not listen to the haters. Your art is fine. Scantiliy clad fantasy heroines are a thing. Or will your muscled barbarian be covering his bulging abs, or will he be running around in a Conan like loin cloth? Assuming you include some male characters. You could also include the stereotypical dwarf hiding behind beard and tons of steel.

The complains I read are from kids playing at school (on school equipment no less), where they should not play games in the first place. Will you remove magic from the game, when christian fundamentalists complain? You should be aware that a lot of the freeloaders on itch are from countries with low income and high morals. You won't make any money from them, so do not let them shape your game. Looking like childs. Hah. Your characters are chibis. Their heads are as big as their torso. They are supposed to look cuddly and fit the sillyness of fighting with a banana inside a bagpack, that is bigger than a small house.

When oriented between horizontal weapons, the whetstones don’t “bind” to the same weapon, suggesting that they won’t combine after the next round. A pair of whetstones that each could affect more than one weapon should always bind to the same weapon so that they can combine.

Lots of fun!

Things discovered the hard way: the Death Scythe’s effect of multiplying poison does not appear to stack, as far as I can tell.

Great game!, had lots of fun, looking forward to the steam release.

Love it, wishlisted it after 1 run because I had alot fun, and I want those other characters soon :) Also I've noticed people in the comments have a problem with the designs. I personally think they are great and that you should design your game as you see fit. :)

Also side note, I know its still early in development, but is there any plans for a solo campaign of sorts or just multiplayer? Just curious.

Unclear if this is a bug, but I'm gaining 7 spikes per shield at the start of combat.  Is the start of combat "once" per round even though it's seven spikes?

On a related note: two shields appear to be almost ready to proc again and one just procced.  It's not clear to me how they'd ever get out of sync with one another.

This was a very fun demo! My inventory management skills needs a little work lol! I had fun playing this. Might try the ranked option to see what that's about. Good game!

Fun Game, the demo isn't very balanced though. Stacking Poison + Purple potions is OP (super easy to acomplish). The only thing that beats it is insta-kill blind sword + purple potion stacking (though this is harder to pull off).

Also it would be good if you could play beyond 10 wins. Sometimes you feel like you've just gotten your build off the ground and then it ends before you can see it play out.

i'm playing version 0.1.1 and it's still happening.

Does version 0.1.1 have your hotfix?
Also, this is maybe not just a matchmaking issue -- 175hp is a lot of max HP, I'm not sure how you could get there unless the game didn't end for @migcreator when it was supposed to.
