this game is incredible! the atmosphere and the characters are so wholesome!

also! i'm not sure if you respond here, but I'm curious about the soundtrack! could you by chance grace me with the knowledge of which instruments/vsts/plugins were used in the OST? I love the soundtrack so much!

hello! thank you for your kind comment and interest in the soundtrack! i was the composer for "co-open" so i can answer your question. most of the instruments in the OST were made using the ableton sampler and putting field recordings i had made into it. i used EQ to boost 440Hz (an 'A' note) of the audio source. this gives the sound both interesting texture, and harmonic elements to make melodies. this video goes in depth about it if you're interested in trying it out. i also used ableton's operator FM synth, synth string samples, sine waves and various other sounds. if you have more questions feel free to contact me! my contact info is on my website which is linked on my itch.io profile :)

Thank you so much for the response! That's such an interesting way to make unique instruments! This helps me a LOT, because I've been experimenting with Meld and Operator for a while (maybe not as gracefully as others, but I'm getting there!) trying to see what kind of sounds I could conjure up, and it's very fun, but the idea of taking samples and then turning them into instruments feels like an entirely new layer! I'll definitely be watching that video, thank you :D

of course! :)

This game was absolutely delightful from start to end. I have to admit that I was terrified for a moment when I walked into the back of the store for the first time and the music changed, so I quickly checked there wouldn't be any scary stuff, haha.

Exploring everything and trying to solve the puzzles was such a treat. Even though I had to check puzzle guides because I couldn't figure out how to progress (or the fact fences can be climbed, full on yellow paint edge discourse moment) it never hindered once that feeling of excitement about discovering the place, it just added to it.

Thank you so much for making this game. I'll always treasure the hours I've spent with it.

I went into this blind and it was so much more than I expected. Such a wonderful and engaging game, it worked its way into a special place in my heart.

This is quite possibly my favorite game I've ever found on itch. It presents a simple, cozy vision of community and cooperation and support that I think society should aspire to be, and that I aspire to cultivate in my own community. I truly think that games like this can inspire actual change, starting locally but enough of that and it becomes something bigger.

Whenever I open it I feel safe and seen and it's my favorite place to just chill and show to others who might need a slow safe place for a bit.

And of course, the sound track and the cats are phenomenal. :) Thank you <3

I need help with resolution settings, I recently upgraded my GPU in my pc to a nvidia 4070 and got a new MSI monitor, but the game doesn't show my preferred resolution (2560 x 1440) in the video settings, is there a settings file somewhere to set the resolution manually?

Hello! The game supports the 2560 x 1440 screen resolution. We were able to test it with a 4k monitor, but unfortunately we don't have an nvidia 4070 to test the game with. There's also no settings file to manually set the preferred resolution, sorry.

Can you check if some scaling or super resolution options are turned on for your monitor / GPU? In some cases this might be the problem with wrong screen resolution in video games.

I checked and as far as I can tell, none of those are turned on, (mind you I am not familiar with the Nvidia and monitor settings, yet), but my other games I play find that resolution easily.

No idea why co-open does not.

The lowest resolution in the game is 320 x 200, the highest is 1280 x 1440, but there's back bars on the left and right with the highest selected, though it is the crispier looking display, compared to the ones lower.

I'm very confused, the game can't even find the 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Hiya I really want to play but having problems. When I start the windows version the camera spins around really fast constantly, and when I start the windows 86 version, I can't get past the menu at the beginning. Is there any way to get past this? Many thanks.

(+1)

Hello! Can you please try to launch the game (the main Windows build, not x86) with no controllers / drawing tablets / etc. connected (only mouse and keyboard) and see if that makes any difference?

(+1)

That fixed it, thanks so much!

Does NOT work on Steam Deck

it seems to work flawlessly for me

this is Such a lovely game

I want to donate a few community copies without purchasing another copy for myself. How do I do that?

(+1)

Unfortunately all types of additional purchases on itchio must be linked to the purchase of the game itself, so there's no way to create a community-copy-donation-only option.

lovely game, though the cats in the grocery store seem to be able to get infinitely big xD
