I would suggest, assuming you still have the original zip file laying around, that you first revert to the old version, then check that it works, and then download the patch again and try installing that.
If you were using mods, you will need to wait for those to update.
Runey isn't a fan of no-win scenarios, so either you cannot lose, or, in the rare case where you *can* lock yourself out of a certain route, there is a free code to "fix" that choice.

Maybe one constructive critic I could give is that there was at one point I was too lazy to spam delivery job just to earn enough money to upgrade the hotel, and it sort of feel like the story with the characters were time-gated in bad way. And it don't feel good when you're dying to push the story with a character further. I do not know if this was intentional or there are other ways to get money quicker, since I ended up using cheat code.
But despite that, I get to enjoy the lovely-crafted characters you have created, and it was worth the time spent. So, I'll be leaving you with a 5 star :)
It sounds like the first thing you did was try to buy everything you could, regardless of if it was important or not. You gain a lot of money passively and the deliveries/pinups give you far more than you'll ever need. As long as you don't buy everything ASAP, you'll never run out of money. And you won't even need to actively make money once you have the bar upgraded.
I've been trying to play the game on joiplay (and yes i have the renply add on installed), however it keeps forcefully closing itself after a few seconds of the loading screen. Ive read over the guide on how to install on android multiple times and I'm certain I'm following it step by step. Ive even tried downloading a previous version of joiplay (1.01.701) since i read another comment stating that this previous version is more compatible with phones. Sadly that doesn't seem to able to work too, as it dos the exact same thing.
If any of you reading this have anything that could solve my problem, please do say!!
1) Your game files are corrupted. It seems unlikely, since they are protected by the zip checksum, but try re-extracting the archive. This is the only reason I can see that may be fixable.
2) Your phone cannot handle the size of the game. This seems... Improbable, as the loading screen is not that big, memory-wise, but then again, it is kinda big screen-wise. Yes, it should resize automatically, but see below.
3) Your Android version is not entirely compatible with some of the features required to run the game (too old, too new, too many updates, not enough updates). There may be missing libraries, or libraries of the wrong version, or bugs, or bugfixes that introduced new bugs. For example, the game resizes a lot of stuff on the fly. This requires CPU or GPU power, and more importantly CPU or GPU calls, which may not be entirely cross-platform.
Or, something else entirely, but then I wouldn't know.
Yes. I remake old content in every update these days. v0.16 specifically added a lot of content to beginning of the game, so I recommend a fresh start and fresh download.
I have an issue with Moon. I started a new game after 1.16.1 and can't get any of her events past 4/12 to start. It just says "You should come back near closing time." but doesn't start the event in the evening.
Maria can work at the bar you just have to progress her story up to that point, so until you have her story there, Moon's story will be stuck where it is
I'm well aware. I've gone well past that but after a certain point i.e when she learns to fight, she no longer works at the bar. Thanks but that's not what I was asking.
You are right, I have the same problem. Stuck at Moon lvl 4 and can't get through it, because Maria no longer works in bar. It's the only thing I can't complete.
I have a bug. I can't select a person to sleep with after getting Android-Maria (beads) event. Previously, my available choices were Kali and Felicity. This persists after updating to 16.1. Is it safer to just start anew? (I'm on Day 80+ btw).
This bug is still persistent 176 days later. After Maria puts the beads in Android's anus, all of your sleep-with options disappear. There is no greyed out options. Your only option is "back".
love this game, i dont even like it for the sex, i love the character interactions and feel im invested in growing my actual relationships with characters
Kudos on an excellent game! I have tried a couple dozen AVN games here over the past year, and quickly eliminated most. Poor game design was usually the reason - unfriendly UI, or incomprehensible story lines. Lack of updates was the other major issue. You have managed to avoid both. Only two other games have made the grade. The character development here is excellent, and the attention to detail is superb. The story line is intriguing, and free of dead ends; also, you don't need a walk-through to navigate it. I have noticed some costume change issues, (addressed by other posters below), but no major glitches or bugs. Keep up the good work. I probably won't be moving to Patreon anytime soon, but will support here as I am able.
I really like how each new chapter adds more depth to the characters and world. When I started the game, I thought the story was just a thin excuse to put a bunch of girls in a hotel but now I care about the characters, android lifespans, and the robot/elf revolution.
I made it a goal to give the player something to care about, something to protect. And I mean really, actually, care. Not just told to care. Those connections hopefully make the player invested in their well-being and goals, which should in turn make the player more invested in the story and world. I'm glad you like it :)

So because of the update, there's a bunch of new stuff at the beginning! This is actually my third playthrough, and its awesome to see all of the minor changes.
Question for Runey: Was the alternate dialogue there before this update? Doing events in a different order has led to different dialogue this time around, which is faakin impressive! Like, its such a subtle thing and people likely wouldn't notice it on a single playthrough, but the fact that its there is awesome!
I realize we cant really nominate this game for award or anything due to themes, but it is easily the best game on Itch.io
Early/bad events are always remade during each update (This is my first project so my skill level has increased a lot over 4 years), each event remade comes with better visuals and rewritten story in some cases. Android's early story got a lot of love v0.16, and a lot of her early story was even rearranged. (Boobjobs now happen before vaginal).

It was the first harem game that I played and it was surprisingly very good. I enjoyed building relationships and learning more about each girl. The game itself has a lot of content, it feels more like a 0.96 rather than 0.16.
A couple of bugs: Maria's outfits in scenes seem to be bugged. No matter what I select she usually wears only 2 outfits - the one with red socks and succubus.
The last available Felicity/Emma story uses Sylvia even if she is not freed yet
By the way, I have finished many storylines and in my opinion the price for Sylvia is ridiculous. I have invested most of the money from the gift into the hotel hoping for future returns, but it left me no money for Sylvia. And it seems that the game at certain point starts expecting that I am supposed to have her. I can't progress Autumn's story for a month or so, and my money is close to zero.

anyone got lucia's second event to play out? still getting the issue where nothing happens after clicking on the door and the tracker updates to 2/8. no repeatable scene unlocked and the third event plays after going back to own room
I played through this game a couple times, have been following the wiki since my first playthrough, but have never gotten the 3-some scene (2/8), always skips to the car keys (3/8)
this might be a bit different then normal. im TRYING to delete saves. its gotten cluttered and ive lost track of whats what and would much rather just wipe it all and start over with the new content ( with the cash cheat this time) but i just cant figure out how. ive deleted the save file folder in the itchio app since thats what i use but they are still there. please give me a sign oh great Gaius!
I'm not sure what the save file in the itchio app is, but it doesn't keep HH's saves (as you've found out). They are stored in %appdata%.
But there are easier ways to get rid of saves. Simply overwrite them or move on to the next page. You have an infinite number of pages. You can even rename each page and reserve one for each character.
I've found it! According to the itchio app you hover your mouse over the save file and hit the 'backspace' or 'delete' key. Cleaned all my saves up and cleared the clutter. Now down to 2 saves for the love or slave routes.
i was hopping for some cheats that jus get the status of everyone to the max without losing any story so that i can chose any choice in their story as i go thru it the cheats that already has cut so much of the story and that is kind sad you know? just my opinion, im loving the game anyway k
Hey Runey! Don't know if you remember the conversation we had a while back about your "direction" for the game... I wouldn't, if I were you & being overwhelmed with the feedback you got so far. That being said; I LOVE this update. SPOILER FOR EVERYONE WHO HASN'T PLAYED THROUGH THIS GAME FULLY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! The rework to Android's story make it far, FAR more believable, also, the Player Char actually gets to intervene with the loud voice I'd imagine he'd have - on certain topics, at least. Him "putting Ashley in her place" when it comes to Android's breast size, reminding her "how it feels like to be the new girl", is nothing short of excellent. Same goes to Kali's updates. As far as the new content goes - every single bit an piece falls into place, and while I am dying to figure out what Felicity & Emma's father is up to... and where he stands... you are doing simply everything right to push the storyline where it's meant to be pushed. Only bit of criticism I have is that exploring Calibre feels sorte meaningless, like a waste of time - that being said, that's coming from someone who never had that option previously. I didn't NEED any of that, is what I am going to say - but again, people that may be playing this game completely from scratch a few years down the line will definitely feel different about it, so my opinion is basically worthless in this regard. Only thing I would say - and I have a feeling that's on your To-Do anyway - is that I would love for Autumn to acknowledge meeting the PC before, if he did, when she joins the Hotel. Nothing more to add. Keep it up, mate! You've literally addressed all of my concerns and are far exceeding expectations. Congratulations on creating a game where the NSFW stuff is not actually vital to the game's success! :)
(Okay, last bit of tiny grief... I enjoyed Kali's previous Sleep With scene more, when she looked the PC in the eye after waking up, because that felt like a proper "lovely moment" :) If you find the time, please try to create 1-2 scenes during Event 15 (?) where the PC and Kali ACTUALLY share a bed for the first time. The Explore Caliber feature is only meant to be played at the very beginning of the game. It fills in the gaps, provides a way to gain easy/simple sex, and adds a new way to make money in the early game. This should result in a much smoother experience when starting. The goal is for the player to never need to click the Advance Time button. (which is something that happened often earlier when there was less to do)
That's what I love about your updates the most - you actually address all of the criticism & critique in our mind :D
As I said then: The "Explore Calibre" won't affect me (as a veteran player) any bit, but may just do wonders for new players. Good call on your end! That being said, and I know you have it on your mind - make sure that, for example, meeting Autumn early has the appropriate effect!
Again, that's coming from someone who ignored all of the "Religion BS" in your story, including that "weaving the staff of making water move a certain way" kind of rubbish, because to me, the Church of Gaius is just one enemy to slay.
Then again, I may expect from the story what noone should realistically expect...
Question 1: This question might've already been asked, but I'm noticing the girls have special outfits when you visit them at night (really love Lin's, btw), and I'm wondering when we'll get that as an option during sex.
Question 2: When will we get the option for repeated sex with Sylvia? I notice that the option is there for Nia, even though I'm "not close enough to her yet." (Already completed all her stuff up to 0.16, so I assume that's just an incomplete part of a future build.) Loved Sylvia's scene. Deliciously hot.
I loved all the new content. I can't help but notice how this update had more than a few male elves (finally!), lol. Nice development. Really retuned my sense of them being kept completely apart from female elves and just worked to death out of sight and mind. Ken came across as very dangerous and utterly ruthless. Definitely a threat. I imagine we're going to be seeing him again. Maybe he'll try blackmailing us. ...Or maybe he's just a terrific actor and is actually running a secret network that helps elves. With your great storytelling, who knows!
I love the way that Ash has turned into a steely-eyed badass. Nia's scene was glorious. Nice musical choice.
I feel like you might be setting things up for a major outside force (the elven gods and their otherworld civilization) to show up at some point and intervene. Can't wait to find out.
Question 3: are we going to be able to have sex with Jin again? It almost feels wrong to ask, since I have so much sympathy for her. But we were able to have enthusiastic sex with her in the dungeon right after getting her, and now it's not even an option, even when she wears vines like Lin. Feels a little bit odd since we were able to sleep with the new addition to the sanctuary right away. (That part would be my only criticism, btw. I was kind of surprised she was so willing to have sex right after being acquired, especially after having been told her life would be better. Would've been nice if there'd been some kind of minor story there to build up to it.)
There are so many places in the story where I feel an urge to make a kind, comforting gesture to these girls. Or intervene and stand up for them, and just make them feel like somebody cares about them as more than objects. A lot of the new parts in the slums provoked that feeling.
Question 4: how much more development is ahead for Ann? Because I really, really want more with her. I feel like she's never felt truly loved, and I find myself wanting to give her that.
1. This feature was just added in v0.16, so if sex in those outfits is a highly requested feature then I may do that :)

A sense of justice is something I focus on for sure, whether that is a lack of it in places, someone trying to gain it, or trying to fight for it. So I'm glad it resonated!
4. Ann, like the other blue room elves, will only get repeatable sex. You've made them happy, they got their happily ever after (as much as it can be in the current system), and are now living as free as they could hope for. And it's a big ask for a story for every character I include.

Hey Runey, hate to chime in on another person's post... BUT! While I understand your reluctance to give literally every minor char their own story ( I get it that it could get VERY overwhelming), you should DEFINITLY consider having them show up in some MINOR scenes ALONGSIDE major chars. Or just "special scenes" that a player only gets when&if they unlock all of the side chars. Remember that "What breast size is better?" "secret scene" between Ashley and Kali? I don't think this would require THAT much work, maybe 1 or 2 renders and the text for those pics. Additionally, while I see the WORK you'd have to do for those girls... I'd also invite you to flip the coin & see the POTENTIAL. Then again, that's exclusively YOUR call. (Though, considering how you've "built up" Dark Elven heritage with Ann, that extremist society in their former ruins AND Maria's Dark Elven heritage, there should be some conclusion to that. In my humble opinion, anyway.)
Im very often stuck on a screen that says "I should get closer to Nia". But i have no idea who it is. it just repeats this message when i click on the screen. Luckly i still can press the time forward button which gets me out of the screen.
Nia is the ninja girl. Go visit the sanctuary. :) If she's not there, make sure you're visiting in the first 2 portions of the day. Or check out the kitchen, or the garden, or the bar.

Guessing he's having the standard "JoiPlay doesn't work" problem, but hoping you'll fix someone else's program. RenPy is just an addon needed for JoiPlay to run the game after all.
You must mean JoiPlay, RenPy is just an addon that lets you run the game. Ask JoiPlay's forums, they sometimes release broken versions and it's up to them to fix their program, not a random indie game dev. Best we can offer is to downgrade your JoiPlay to a working version, as this fellow offered.

The 0.16.1 update is recommended, as it's a bugfix for 0.16. You can play the 0.16 if you want, but some of the bugs may ruin the experience.

Click on a grey option to see what you need to do to unlock it.
There are no grey options or any options at all. After clicking "sleep with someone" the bug is that all options but "back" disappeared.

Joiplay is the solution. Hate android for limiting us to 2GB per file in 2022.
Better yet, if people annoy them enough, I'm sure they would upgrade it. 2GB was low 10 years ago...

So because of the update, there's a bunch of new stuff at the beginning! This is actually my third playthrough, and its awesome to see all of the minor changes.
Question for Runey: Was the alternate dialogue there before this update? Doing events in a different order has led to different dialogue this time around, which is faakin impressive! Like, its such a subtle thing and people likely wouldn't notice it on a single playthrough, but the fact that its there is awesome!
I realize we cant really nominate this game for award or anything due to themes, but it is easily the best game on Itch.io
Early/bad events are always remade during each update (This is my first project so my skill level has increased a lot over 4 years), each event remade comes with better visuals and rewritten story in some cases. Android's early story got a lot of love v0.16, and a lot of her early story was even rearranged. (Boobjobs now happen before vaginal).

I am not sure where you put your save files, but they are stored in %appdata% by default.

edit: nvm just download the patch folder and read the file titled “read_me” then follow the instructions.
It was the first harem game that I played and it was surprisingly very good. I enjoyed building relationships and learning more about each girl. The game itself has a lot of content, it feels more like a 0.96 rather than 0.16.
A couple of bugs: Maria's outfits in scenes seem to be bugged. No matter what I select she usually wears only 2 outfits - the one with red socks and succubus.
The last available Felicity/Emma story uses Sylvia even if she is not freed yet
By the way, I have finished many storylines and in my opinion the price for Sylvia is ridiculous. I have invested most of the money from the gift into the hotel hoping for future returns, but it left me no money for Sylvia. And it seems that the game at certain point starts expecting that I am supposed to have her. I can't progress Autumn's story for a month or so, and my money is close to zero.
These bugs have been fixed in v0.16.1
There are many ways to make money, both passively and actively. I recommend those methods when you need more money.

Really enjoyed the game and story. I just noticed that we can replay all the stories in the gallery. However there are only gallery for main characters. Will there be gallery for the sub characters as well?
The gallery is in need of a huge update, it will come.
The "Others" tab is for Side Characters, and as Runey mentioned, could use a lot more existing events in there.
anyone got lucia's second event to play out? still getting the issue where nothing happens after clicking on the door and the tracker updates to 2/8. no repeatable scene unlocked and the third event plays after going back to own room

I played through this game a couple times, have been following the wiki since my first playthrough, but have never gotten the 3-some scene (2/8), always skips to the car keys (3/8)
this might be a bit different then normal. im TRYING to delete saves. its gotten cluttered and ive lost track of whats what and would much rather just wipe it all and start over with the new content ( with the cash cheat this time) but i just cant figure out how. ive deleted the save file folder in the itchio app since thats what i use but they are still there. please give me a sign oh great Gaius!
I'm not sure what the save file in the itchio app is, but it doesn't keep HH's saves (as you've found out). They are stored in %appdata%.
But there are easier ways to get rid of saves. Simply overwrite them or move on to the next page. You have an infinite number of pages. You can even rename each page and reserve one for each character.
I've found it! According to the itchio app you hover your mouse over the save file and hit the 'backspace' or 'delete' key. Cleaned all my saves up and cleared the clutter. Now down to 2 saves for the love or slave routes.
i was hopping for some cheats that jus get the status of everyone to the max without losing any story so that i can chose any choice in their story as i go thru it the cheats that already has cut so much of the story and that is kind sad you know? just my opinion, im loving the game anyway k

Don't know if you remember the conversation we had a while back about your "direction" for the game... I wouldn't, if I were you & being overwhelmed with the feedback you got so far.
That being said; I LOVE this update.
SPOILER FOR EVERYONE WHO HASN'T PLAYED THROUGH THIS GAME FULLY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
The rework to Android's story make it far, FAR more believable, also, the Player Char actually gets to intervene with the loud voice I'd imagine he'd have - on certain topics, at least. Him "putting Ashley in her place" when it comes to Android's breast size, reminding her "how it feels like to be the new girl", is nothing short of excellent.
Same goes to Kali's updates.
As far as the new content goes - every single bit an piece falls into place, and while I am dying to figure out what Felicity & Emma's father is up to... and where he stands... you are doing simply everything right to push the storyline where it's meant to be pushed.
Only bit of criticism I have is that exploring Calibre feels sorte meaningless, like a waste of time - that being said, that's coming from someone who never had that option previously. I didn't NEED any of that, is what I am going to say - but again, people that may be playing this game completely from scratch a few years down the line will definitely feel different about it, so my opinion is basically worthless in this regard.
Only thing I would say - and I have a feeling that's on your To-Do anyway - is that I would love for Autumn to acknowledge meeting the PC before, if he did, when she joins the Hotel.
Nothing more to add. Keep it up, mate! You've literally addressed all of my concerns and are far exceeding expectations. Congratulations on creating a game where the NSFW stuff is not actually vital to the game's success! :)
(Okay, last bit of tiny grief... I enjoyed Kali's previous Sleep With scene more, when she looked the PC in the eye after waking up, because that felt like a proper "lovely moment" :) If you find the time, please try to create 1-2 scenes during Event 15 (?) where the PC and Kali ACTUALLY share a bed for the first time. Thanks!)

The Explore Caliber feature is only meant to be played at the very beginning of the game. It fills in the gaps, provides a way to gain easy/simple sex, and adds a new way to make money in the early game. This should result in a much smoother experience when starting. The goal is for the player to never need to click the Advance Time button. (which is something that happened often earlier when there was less to do)
That's what I love about your updates the most - you actually address all of the criticism & critique in our mind :D
As I said then: The "Explore Calibre" won't affect me (as a veteran player) any bit, but may just do wonders for new players. Good call on your end! That being said, and I know you have it on your mind - make sure that, for example, meeting Autumn early has the appropriate effect!
Again, that's coming from someone who ignored all of the "Religion BS" in your story, including that "weaving the staff of making water move a certain way" kind of rubbish, because to me, the Church of Gaius is just one enemy to slay.
Then again, I may expect from the story what noone should realistically expect...
Question 1: This question might've already been asked, but I'm noticing the girls have special outfits when you visit them at night (really love Lin's, btw), and I'm wondering when we'll get that as an option during sex.
Question 2: When will we get the option for repeated sex with Sylvia? I notice that the option is there for Nia, even though I'm "not close enough to her yet." (Already completed all her stuff up to 0.16, so I assume that's just an incomplete part of a future build.) Loved Sylvia's scene. Deliciously hot.
I loved all the new content. I can't help but notice how this update had more than a few male elves (finally!), lol. Nice development. Really retuned my sense of them being kept completely apart from female elves and just worked to death out of sight and mind. Ken came across as very dangerous and utterly ruthless. Definitely a threat. I imagine we're going to be seeing him again. Maybe he'll try blackmailing us. ...Or maybe he's just a terrific actor and is actually running a secret network that helps elves. With your great storytelling, who knows!
I love the way that Ash has turned into a steely-eyed badass. Nia's scene was glorious. Nice musical choice.
I feel like you might be setting things up for a major outside force (the elven gods and their otherworld civilization) to show up at some point and intervene. Can't wait to find out.
Question 3: are we going to be able to have sex with Jin again? It almost feels wrong to ask, since I have so much sympathy for her. But we were able to have enthusiastic sex with her in the dungeon right after getting her, and now it's not even an option, even when she wears vines like Lin. Feels a little bit odd since we were able to sleep with the new addition to the sanctuary right away. (That part would be my only criticism, btw. I was kind of surprised she was so willing to have sex right after being acquired, especially after having been told her life would be better. Would've been nice if there'd been some kind of minor story there to build up to it.)
There are so many places in the story where I feel an urge to make a kind, comforting gesture to these girls. Or intervene and stand up for them, and just make them feel like somebody cares about them as more than objects. A lot of the new parts in the slums provoked that feeling.
Question 4: how much more development is ahead for Ann? Because I really, really want more with her. I feel like she's never felt truly loved, and I find myself wanting to give her that.
1. This feature was just added in v0.16, so if sex in those outfits is a highly requested feature then I may do that :)

A sense of justice is something I focus on for sure, whether that is a lack of it in places, someone trying to gain it, or trying to fight for it. So I'm glad it resonated!
4. Ann, like the other blue room elves, will only get repeatable sex. You've made them happy, they got their happily ever after (as much as it can be in the current system), and are now living as free as they could hope for. And it's a big ask for a story for every character I include.

Hey Runey, hate to chime in on another person's post... BUT! While I understand your reluctance to give literally every minor char their own story ( I get it that it could get VERY overwhelming), you should DEFINITLY consider having them show up in some MINOR scenes ALONGSIDE major chars. Or just "special scenes" that a player only gets when&if they unlock all of the side chars.
Remember that "What breast size is better?" "secret scene" between Ashley and Kali? I don't think this would require THAT much work, maybe 1 or 2 renders and the text for those pics.
Additionally, while I see the WORK you'd have to do for those girls... I'd also invite you to flip the coin & see the POTENTIAL. Then again, that's exclusively YOUR call.
(Though, considering how you've "built up" Dark Elven heritage with Ann, that extremist society in their former ruins AND Maria's Dark Elven heritage, there should be some conclusion to that. In my humble opinion, anyway.)
Im very often stuck on a screen that says "I should get closer to Nia". But i have no idea who it is. it just repeats this message when i click on the screen. Luckly i still can press the time forward button which gets me out of the screen.
Nia is the ninja girl. Go visit the sanctuary. :) If she's not there, make sure you're visiting in the first 2 portions of the day. Or check out the kitchen, or the garden, or the bar.

she is not listed there for me yet, guess i still have to meet her. But ty for the quick response. And when im already at it let me tell you that you made an more than awseome job at the game. I love your story telling and how you wrote all the characters. Its incredible how deep each background goes and how realistic they are with all the little traits and problems that make out who someone is.
How do you advance Vanessa passed lvl 1? I've had the exclamation mark and finished everything else but can't figure it.

Why are you downloading Renpy? This is Harem Hotel.
Guessing he's having the standard "JoiPlay doesn't work" problem, but hoping you'll fix someone else's program.
RenPy is just an addon needed for JoiPlay to run the game after all.
You must mean JoiPlay, RenPy is just an addon that lets you run the game.
Ask JoiPlay's forums, they sometimes release broken versions and it's up to them to fix their program, not a random indie game dev.
Best we can offer is to downgrade your JoiPlay to a working version, as this fellow offered.
