What is the Beach Jam?

This is WolverineSoft's annual summer game jam! Unlike most schoolyear jams, this jam will last one whole week and take place virtually via or Discord! Participants are free to meet up in-person, but all announcements, information, and presentations will occur over Discord, so feel free to participate from literally anywhere you have a stable Internet connection!

When: 18:00 EST July 15th to 18:00 EST July 22nd

How Can I Participate?

1. Join the WolverineSoft discord at https://bit.ly/wsoft_discord! Once you're there, grab the @Game Jammer role in the #roles channel
2. Discussion and announcements regarding the game jam will be contained within the Beach Jam-related channels! Make sure to pay attention to the #beach23-announcements channel for important information about the jam, including events, deadlines, etc.
3. At the time of kickoff, a team registration form will be sent out. Fill in the form and submit it 24 hours before the end of the jam!

After you complete all 3 steps, you’re all set!

Rules

1. If you use any third party assets (Music, SFX, Art, etc) they must be free-to-use and properly credited in your game.

2. Your game must uphold the U of M standards of inclusivity, tact, and general all around positive-feeling! Use common sense, and avoid depicting offensive material. If we determine that your game grossly violates U of M values, you will be disqualified. 

3. Have fun, be kind! Let the officers know if you have any questions or concerns!

Judging

Games will be voted on by the participants, and the top three games will be announced!

Games will also be judged by the 4 categories below:

• Use of Theme
• Gameplay, Mechanics
• Style, Polish, Aesthetic
• Music, SFX, Audio

Each game will be ranked for each category, and each category holds equal weight.
