Welcome to the World of Coding Autumn '24 Game Jam!

Important Note: The Jam has already started (Started on the 8th)! Get your games ready for when submissions open on the 20th!

Running for three weeks in September it will mark one of the main events we are holding this year. For this event, any of our members (And anyone who'd like to) are able to submit a game that will follow a theme set on the opening day of the event, along with a twist. 

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th place will win a prize along with there being honourable mentions for Best Use of Theme, Best Sound, Best Art, Best Technicality, Best Innovation. All of which will be announced here & in our discord server.

Jam Info & Rules:

THEME

 Theme: Sorcery 

Twists: Enchanted Relics & Mana Overload

• Enchanted Relics: Magical artifacts found throughout the game world grant special abilities or powers but come with their own set of challenges or curses.
• Mana Overload: Excessive use of magic causes temporary or permanent side effects, such as diminished abilities or altered game conditions.

The game must reflect the theme and twists in some way!

TEAMS

Size: 1-4 members.
Skills: Teams can consist of people with different skill sets (programming, design, art, music, etc).
Entries: Participants may only submit one game, whether solo or in a team.
Prize Splitting: The team members must agree on how to split any prize received as the same prize will be given regardless of team size.

TOOLS AND ASSETS

Dev tools: All engines and development tools are allowed
Pre-made assets: You are allowed the use of pre-made assets, but they should strictly be free/ available for everybody
Content: All content should be made during the competition unless stated otherwise

JUDGING

Judging panel: Each game will be reviewed and voted based on the criteria by: Arty, Owen & other guest judges.
Awards: The 5 games with highest ratings will receive a rewards. Honorable mentions will include: Best Use of Theme, Best Sound, Best Art, Best Technicality, Best Innovation

DISQUALIFICATION

Rule Violations: Any team that violates the rules will be disqualified.
Late Submissions: Game submitted after the deadline will be disqualified unless arranged with event organisers prior to the deadline. 
NSFW: Any game that has Not Safe For Work content will automatically be disqualified.
