What is Whole New World?

Whole New World is a limited TTRPG webseries from the minds of Poorna M & Valiant Dorian, produced by One Shot Network, the show captures the chaos of game design from concept to gameplay. To make this webseries a reality, we will be running a Kickstarter campaign from 7th April 2026 to 7th May 2026. In conjunction with this campaign, we wanted to share the magic of Whole New World with you all, through Val's annual game jam! 

Craft a Whole New World

For Val's birthday game jam this year, we challenge you to craft a Whole New World by writing and designing a TTRPG setting or world. 

The size of the setting/world can start from as small as a town to as large as a galaxy. The limit is your imagination (and how much you are able to put to paper before the end of the jam). 

Why Game Jam?

Every year for my birthday month, I wanted to showcase and provide a platform for people to engage with their creativity, and be challenged in a positive way. The greatest gift is witnessing folks in the throughs of creative passion. This year in conjunction with the Whole New World Kickstarter launch, Poorna and I wanted to set worldbuilding challenge of our show for all of you! 

Rules

1. Write and design a TTRPG setting or world. 
2. The setting/world has to be made within the jam period.
   1. It's fine if you have the idea before or have a WIP. Just make sure your itch.io project is created within the jam period.
3. Multiple entries are allowed.
4. It is recommended to mention RPG safety tools in the itch.io game description.
5. No AI or crypto-art! Entries containing them will be removed.
6. No hate speech or bigotry!
7. I reserve the right to remove any submissions that are against the spirit of the jam.

Theme & Challenges (optional)

We welcome any world with any theme, but if you so choose, you could use this theme for inspiration: Horizons beyond Horizons

The incorporation of the theme into your game is entirely optional. It is to serve as an inspiration or a challenge to your creativity.

If you are craving some additional challenges consider the following: 

• Limit your submission to no longer than 8 pages
• Build gameplay mechanics to prop up your setting
• Write a mini adventure or plot hook alongside your setting/world
• Take on the Whole New World Challenge! 
  • Build your setting/world
  • Hand your world to another designer to craft gameplay mechanics for it
  • Play a session within the world and game mechanics you cooked up with some friends!

Celebrating Whole New Worlds

As entries are completed and submitted to the game jam page, Poorna and I will react to each world, talk about it and share our love for all your worlds on our socials!
