What The Jam!? 2025 is a free online event, organized by the Puerto Rico Game Developers Association (PRGDA), where Puerto Ricans from different backgrounds come together and make a videogame, or board game in 5 days. We ask participants, also known as "jammers", to create a game from beginning to end within the prescribed time. The brief time span is meant to help encourage creative thinking, which results in small but innovative and experimental games, some of which can be developed beyond the event.

Let’s make What the Jam!? 2025 enjoyable for everyone by following these very simple rules:
1. Follow the Code of Conduct: The PRGDA expects everyone involved in the event to abide by the Code of Conduct.
2. Upload your game: All teams are expected to upload a playable version of their game, a link, or set of instructions, to this itch.io website, considered the event’s official jam website. This upload must be done by July 20, 7:00 PM AST, and all the games submitted this way will be presented on a small game showcase through a stream, starting on July 20, 7:00 PM AST. If you still haven’t uploaded your game at the mentioned time, submissions will end on July 20, 11:59 PM AST.
3. Remember the licensing: All uploads (code, assets, executables, etc.) will be shared and licensed under the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International Creative Commons License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). Make sure you agree with this before participating. You can learn more about this license here: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/
4. Respect the ideals of the jam: Whatever creative decisions you make when creating your game, keep in mind the shared goal of collaborating, learning, and sharing among the Puerto Rico game development community. Use tools and assets that allow your game to be licensed under Creative Commons License (listed in point #3). Upload a playable version of your game, and any source code and assets, for educational purposes. Anything you create will remain your property within the terms of our licensing agreement.
5. Enjoy yourself! This is not a competition. Learn from one another, create together and have fun together. What the Jam!? 2025 isn't just about making games, it’s also about creating friendships, connections, experiences, and memories. Sharing your game jam experiences through social media is fully encouraged! Just use the hashtag #WhatTheJamPR25!
