what is weird week? 

   •  weird week is all about creativity and originality! 

   • if you've ever had an idea for a game, story, or interactive experience which is weird, then this is the place to go!

   •  any idea bouncing around your head will do, even if it isn't explicitly weird, you can try it out.

   •  weird week is a chill jam for game devs to test out their ideas

what is allowed during weird week?

   •  weird week is a very inclusive jam with games, films, stories, card games, and most anything else you can think of! The entry with the most creative medium will win the category of the same name.

   •  all engines, languages, or methods are allowed (except illegal ones).

   •  the theme is optional so don't worry if yours doesn't fit.

   •  so long as the entry as any semblance of "weird", don't worry.

   •  games made outside of the allotted time are allowed, the only thing you should try and achieve is a unique experience!

what is not allowed during weird week?

While weird week is very inclusive, certain entries may be subject to disqualification. These entries include:

   •  jam spam, entries entering  many jams at once with little effort put towards each theme.

    •  entries which that cannot run on Chrome Browser, Windows 10, or Mac.

    •  entries with mean stuff (racism, xenophobia, anti-semetism, etc.) - nobody likes mean stuff

here is a list of game engines you can use to make some weird stuff

unity is a beginner-friendly game engine that can be used to make games, films, or apps

unreal is a professional (mostly 3d) game engine used in films and AAA games for photo realistic rendering and next-gen games

godot is an open source game engine which specializes in 2d games and intuitive design

the majority of judging will be done by me, with the exception of the community choice category
