TWIST

There is a special twist in every jam that your game must have, but is open to interpretation. If you are unsure if your idea doesn't fit the twist,  just remember that everyone will interpret it differently, It is revealed when the jam starts.

RATING

At the end of the Jam, there will be a rating period that lasts 5 days. Your game will be rated on:

Enjoyment - How much you enjoyed your time with the game.

Concept - How interesting or unique the main focus of the game was.

Presentation - How well executed the main focus of the game was.

Use of limitation - How well the game incorporated the given limitation.

Keep in mind that the theme is purely for inspiration, and you should not rate a game differently based on how well the theme was followed.

Rules:

Keep game content clean. NSFW, offensive, graphic content must have a warning at the start and in the description/cover.

Answer submission questions honestly. You will be prompted to answer a few questions when submitting your game.

Any engine/framework. You can use any game engine or framework, or even make your own.

Any Games that don’t follow rules will be removed without warning.

FAQ:

Can I submit more than one game? Yes, but not advised.

Can I submit a game I already made? No. Only projects made within the time frame are allowed.

Can I make changes during the rating period? No.

What engine can I use? Any engine/framework or make your own.

Is there a prize for winners? Yes sometimes.

Do I have to follow the theme? Yes.

Can I use code/assets from other Jams? Yes! If you have rights to use it and it wasn’t made specifically for this particular jam.

Help! I couldn’t submit on time. What do I do? Check discord server/community post for how to submit late.

When does the next Wave Jam start and when will the twist be announced? Wave Jam takes place every month from 1st to 4th for 72  hours (3 days). The twist is announced at the start of the Jam.
