Virtual Reality Knights hosted UCF Modeling Jam!
Similar to a game jam, artists solo or in teams will have a weekend to make an FBX model, or a scene in unity as a build.

The focus of this jam will be to create an immersive scene or environment based on the given theme. For not only VR but game design in general, it is the artists' goal to make objects or places that tell a story and provide atmosphere to the players. Not only this, they are also responsible for creating models and parts that can run in engine through optimization.

For VR games in particular, models that have previously cut corners by not having certain faces hidden to the player or lower textures now have to have more detail and form all in the round. This is due to the interaction that VR provides and the freedom it creates for the players to see things they have never be able to before. Additionally, models have to still be under tight restrictions in texture and sizes else scenes and builds will not run in stand alone headsets. Artists who can work within these limits are very talented and we hope to host this Jam to give them a chance to learn or show their skills.

Rules:

1. All models and textures must be made by yourself, but if you're creating a scene you can use AI, code, forums(such as unity tutorials) or general scripts from others if making a character controller. Additionally, you can use previous scripts or shaders you have in the scene. Please just include credit and and links when possible in the submission.

2. You can work in teams, solo, online or in person. We will be streaming the events in the Modeling Jam Discord when necessary.

3. You will have between September Friday 29th 5pm to October Sunday 1st 5pm to submit for the Game jam.

4. You can choose not to do the theme, but if you do let us know how it relates!

Scene Rules:
If you make a scene and might want it added to the VRK Haunted House, Making it 5.5 by 5.5 Meters would work with our sizing for room scaling a smaller scene. Be sure to not make it too non family friendly or we might get in trouble.

Voting:

1. Quality of visuals

2. Creativity of the theme

3. Optimization of the model(s)
