Respect Other Work

People from all skill levels and backgrounds can join the VR Challenge.  Keep in mind the shared goal of collaborating, learning, and sharing among your peers.

Sharing Your Work

One of the goals of this challenge is to level-up everyone's ability to create amazing VR experiences. So you must share any code and assets used for creating your VR experience. Make sure you are legally allowed to share all content without breaking any legal agreements. For example, don't use a Mickey Mouse 3D model or Disney will get angry. Don't share code belonging to your employer or anyone else other than yourself, nor upload anything that is under non-disclosure (NDA) or other legal agreements.

Remember the Licensing

You own your own work! But please don't forget to state the licensing of all uploaded content (including code, assets, and binaries).  The project must be under an appropriate open source license; BSD, MIT, Apache, or public domain.

For dependencies from Unity/Unreal Engine Asset Stores; packages must be freely available or use a demo version.

  • Ex: AVPro Video by Renderheads - Must use free trial version
  • Ex: DOTween by Demigiant, must use free version (not Pro)
  • For dependencies from Git Repos, these must be freely available and license permissions must be compatible with the license you have chosen.
  • Ex: No GPL code in Unity as that'd require Unity to be open source GPL too.
