Can I modify the game after the jam? - Sure!

Can I upload a demo or an incomplete game? - No! Only completed games are accepted. Think of this as a challenge.

Can I make a paid game after the jam is over? - If your idea is to generate revenue of course! However, if you are using CC art (free to use) it is recommended and requested that you read the terms of use of those assets.

Where can I find free use assets? - On itch there are a lot of artists who publish free use assets.

Can I use a game already finished or from a past jam? - No. You cannot use a completed or started game, you must create your project from 0 and submit it during the submission period.

Can I send this game to another jam while participating in this one? - If you have already published your project in this jam you cannot participate with the same project in another jam.

What is a route? - Visual novels tell branching stories. That means that depending on the seemingly unimportant decisions we make, the story will build up differently. This is called routes, and each route is a completely different story. In addition, each route can have its own ending.

Why 1h? How do I know if my game lasts 1h? - The minimum length is 1h, but it doesn't mean that a story can only be told in 1h. Try to extend the story and see how far it goes. In general, visual novels consist of:

  • A common route
  • Character routes

Each route can have choices that can change the course of the story or the ending itself. As for how to know how long it takes, well that depends on how fast you can read it.
