WHAT?

A 2 and a bit week game jam in July, for making games using any of the Videotome engines.

VIDEOTOME?

Videotome is a series of small, fairly simple IF/VN engines made by me, Freya. They are:

• Videotome, for linear, no frills text / images / music;
• Videotome ADV, adding a more conventional layout with ignorable choices and branching;
• Super Videotome, for more fully featured and freeform image/canvas use;
• Videotome Heartbreak, adding a stat raising dating sim & storylets structure to the above.

WHY?

The last jam went well :) And generally, in the 3 years since starting this series of engines, people have been making games with them, fairly independently, so I thought it would be nice to encourage it again. Also, I like short game jams.

OKAY. RULES?

• Use one of the Videotome engines above (or a modification of them).
• Adherence to theme is not compulsory - treat it as a prompt or an initial starting idea, or ignore it entirely, up to you!
• This jam is not ranked and not competitive; starting a bit early, resurrecting old ideas etc. is totally OK. I do encourage you to not overwork though; it's 2 weeks for a reason, to not make anyone stress about massive projects.
• As a decent chunk of the existing Videotome userbase makes games featuring NSFW content, these will be allowed and welcomed in submission, so long as clearly tagged as such.
• However, entries with egregiously offensive content are not welcome; when in doubt, if your game features heavy themes that is OK, but if it is promoting bigotry, hate speech, etc then it is not welcome.
