Prototype Jam Rules
Overview
Welcome to the Prototype Jam! This game jam is designed to kickstart your semester by creating a working prototype with your team. The focus is on building a solid foundation for a game concept that you can potentially develop throughout the semester.
Prototype Requirements
Your submission must include:
- Playable Build: A working prototype that can be tested
- Core Mechanic: At least one clearly defined gameplay mechanic
- Documentation: Brief description of your game concept and controls
Rules & Restrictions
- Original Work: All code must be written during the jam period
- Generative AI: Any use of generative AI must be attributed with specifics
- Team Collaboration: All team members must contribute meaningfully
- External Help: Mentorship from club officers is allowed and encouraged
Judging & Prizes
Your prototypes will be evaluated by 6 judges:

Prizes:
- First Place: $25 Steam Gift Card
- Second Place: Free club t-shirt
Showcase
- After submitting your game, all team leads are expected to present their games at the next general meeting
- After the showcase, judging and voting begins
Code of Conduct
- Respect all participants and their ideas
- Help create an inclusive environment for developers of all skill levels
- Give constructive feedback during playtesting sessions
- Clean up after yourself in shared spaces
- Have fun and learn something new!
