Urban Legends is a game jam built around the idea that the scariest things aren’t buried in ancient tombs or far-off forests; they’re right outside your front door. The things we overhear. The warnings we ignore. The stories we grew up with that we swear are just rumors… right?

This jam is your chance to dig into the eerie side of the modern world. Explore the myths people still tell in gas stations, in high school bathrooms, at the edge of neighborhoods with no streetlights. Interpret them however you want; horror, comedy, surreal, or nostalgic. just make something that feels like it could be real… or at least, something your cousin swears happened to a friend of a friend.

The theme is Urban Legends
It is wide open for interpretation.

You can:

Base your game on a real-life local legend.
Invent your own myth and build a world around it.
Flip a well-known story on its head. 
Set your game in a city, a suburb, a highway diner, a train station — wherever urban weirdness lives.

What Counts?

You don't need to make a horror game. Urban legends are just the seed; what grows from it is up to you. Scare us, make us laugh, make us paranoid. Just make us feel like we’re part of a story passed down in hushed voices.

All Formats Welcome

Whether it’s a 2D sidescroller, a PS1-style first-person horror, a Twine narrative, or even a broken VHS tape full of FMV, or even a business card.

If it tells a story and taps into the vibe, it fits.
