Urban Jam is all about celebrating urban culture through games. We welcome any game developer who wants to join us – especially if you're new to the scene or eager to learn something new about game development.

You'll have one week to create the most creative video game you can imagine, all centered around our urban theme! We're talking about everything that makes urban culture vibrant – street art, music, skateboarding – you know the vibe. Let your creativity run wild!

We'll reveal the specific theme right when the competition kicks off.

• Follow the theme – that's the whole point!
• Keep things appropriate – no NSFW stuff or content that's offensive or puts anyone down.
• Don't jump the gun! Wait for the official start to begin development, but brainstorming beforehand is totally fine.
• No AI-generated artwork, but AI can definitely help you with coding – use whatever tools make you a better programmer!
• Use any game engine you want – Unity, Godot, GameMaker, or whatever works best for you!
• Third-party assets are cool, just make sure you're allowed to use them.

Your entries will be evaluated on:

• Theme Implementation – how well you captured the theme
• Art Style and Pixel Art – visual appeal and artistic execution
• Audio and Music – sound design and musical composition
• Gameplay – mechanics, controls, and overall game flow
• Fun and Creativity – originality and how enjoyable it is to play

Voting Process

After submissions close, you'll have 3 days to play and vote for your favorite games. Then we'll announce the winner!

Prizes

I love supporting indie developers, so our first place winner gets to choose from some incredible games: Balatro, Undertale, Terraria, Stardew Valley or CupHead DLC for Steam – all absolute gems!

Just a heads up: we need at least 10 submissions or 25 participants to unlock the prizes.
