Welcome to the UMD Fall 2025 Game Jam page!

Here you can find all the necessary information for success during your jamming period!

Entry Requirements:

To participate in any UMD Game Dev Club Game Jam, you must be one of the following:

  •  A current UMD Student
  •  UMD faculty or staff
  •  An alumni of UMD
  •  Over the age of 18 and on a team with at least one UMD student/alumni/faculty

In short, as long as at least one member on your team is part of the UMD community, your team is eligible to submit a game.

Themes:

1. Speedrun

2. Cave Delving

3. Malware

Feel free to use either a single theme, or a combination of them.

Rules:

  • You are free to build your game with any engine or tool that you wish to use
  • You are free to collaborate in teams or go solo. We have no max-cap on team size.
  • You are free to use any assets you find online assuming you have the right to use them (check the license!)
  • Your final game must run either on Windows or in the Browser (without requiring any additional dependencies).
  • No micro-transactions (or macro-transactions for that matter). Your game should be 100% free to play.
  • No NSFW content
  • No AI-generated assets (code is fine, but art/music/etc are not acceptable)
  • Be sensible about UMD-related content. Ex. don’t slander any faculty/staff, departments, or non-GDC student organizations.

Discord:

If you aren’t already on, check out the discord: https://discord.gg/427UYDvBKA

Here, you’ll be able to find people to team up with and get help whenever you need it!

Need Help?

If you’re experiencing any technical issues with the jam page, please ping the GDC Council on our discord (@Game Dev Club Council). We will extend the deadline for people having trouble submitting last minute, so don’t worry!

Have fun!
