We are a collective of creative adults who make games together. We range from full-time games programmers to hobbyists working with others their very first game. We are committed to the ideals of diversity and kindness, whilst providing an environment where people can uplift each other whilst making games!
This is the very first jam that Team Yellow Dinosaur has ever hosted and, as the title suggests, the theme is Mecha! Feel free to interpret that as you fit. As long as you feel that your game includes the mecha theme somehow, that's good enough for us. The reason why we have themes here is to act as a prompt to help you find your game-making focus.
Some of the future jams will have a team-based approach, but the (not so secret) goal of this jam is for you to try your hand at every stage of the game-making process. Not only will this give other TYD members a good idea of what your work is like in different fields, it's an opportunity to have some fun trying possibly one or several new things.
You game does not need to have visuals, audio, writing, or code, but we encourage you to try them for your game, even if you don't feel particularly confident in those fields. This is not a competition, and we believe that everything you do for your game is a win for you. You do not need natural talent to participate: only the determination to not give up.
If you have any questions or queries or need advice in making your game, let us know on the Discord group!
