Brief

A theme will be revealed to the participants at the start of the event around which participants will have to make a game within the duration of the event. Participants will be judged on the basis of the quality of their submission, and the relevance to theme. Top participants will be awarded with hefty prizes. This event is being conducted for the first time in Tryst 2022 as one of its flagship events.

Theme

The theme for this Game Jam is Science vs Magic.

Timeline

72 hours duration from 13th April 11:59PM to 16th April 11:59PM. Shortlisted participants will be required to come to IIT Delhi campus for the final judgment round on 17th April (time and place to be announced).

Submission Instructions

First stage submission will be online in which participants will submit their prepared game in the itch.io page (link: https://itch.io/jam/tryst22-gdc-game-jam). Participants would have to submit their games on this platform within the duration of the event. Then the shortlisted participants (announced on 17th early morning) will be called for an offline presentation of their game in front of judges at IIT Delhi campus on 17th. Final winners will be announced there. Note: it is compulsory to be present for the offline round to be eligible to win prizes.

Participants will be allowed a maximum of 3 student members per team. Solo submissions are also permitted.

All submissions are subjected to following constraints -

  • Royalty-free sounds/Arts/Animations
  • Unity3D: free packages from the Asset store.
  • Unreal Engine: free packages from UE-Marketplace
  • Participants must be ready to provide source code for proof of their work if required.

Judges

The DevClub has discretion to decide on judges. In the best interest of everyone, and to facilitate a professional environment we shall strive to find external reputed judges for the event. The submissions shall be judged on following criteria:

  • Relation to the theme
  • Innovation
  • Creative skill
  • Completeness of the project
  • Playability and Difficulty balance.
