Use of theme?
Novel Twist on Classic Game - The game was based on the famous arcade game of the name "Space Invaders". The twist is that upon killing an enemy the player can then resurrect them as allies and use them to defend them self from further enemies.

A very entertaining spin-off of Space Invaders.

Heey! Very nice work with this one! I like that you made it so the player could use the bodies of destroyed enemies as a shield!

It's got a very retro feel to it and it's great fun to play!
As others have mentioned, you could take this game even further by allowing allies to move/shoot.
You could also have powerups that drop from dead enemies (e.g. triple shot, explosive shot)

I really like the idea. But I felt like it could have been way better if your allies could attack. And since you've released the source, I took the liberty of implementing that myself. And it ended up being so much fun.

Ideally there should be diffculty curve. It starts really difficult right now.

Allies move aswell: they horizontaly oscilate in various speeds and ranges while keeping close to the player character.

You can build your powers quite a lot but it is still suprisingly easy to die.

I coded it quickly so it doesn't quite fit the style of your coding. I want to send you the source. I can either zip now or create a new branch for it on github later

If you want, I can publish this as a 4th build (after the jam has ended), and with full credit to you of course.

Regarding how you could send the source code to me; if it’s faster, you can just zip it, and I can put it on the GitHub repo if you agree with what I said above. If you want, you can add me on Discord to send me the file (Mariothedog#4707) or you can just post a link using a site like wetransfer. Either works for me.

Also, just throwing out some more ideas here, but some more variation and a more stable difficulty curve could be implemented by changing the stats based on the type of enemy that the ally is based on, and by gradually increasing the amount of enemies instead of keeping the number at a fixed value.

that's a neat little game, great job! I like the concept - though might be better if the enemies you resurrect move left/right as well? Or at least die to your own bullets. It sort of feels like you can cheese the game by staying in on position and continually firing 😅 but other than that it works really well! No bugs, which is awesome for a game made in such a short period, and the music is really cool. Great job!

Also, there actually is a bug! When you shoot an enemy it plays the laser sound effect instead of the hurt sound effect. That was just a typo on my part lol.
