Create your own Triple Laser!

Portal 2's most infamous test chamber, Triple Laser, has been used as a tool for many creative ideas in my Triple Laser Saga series. Now it's your turn to cook up something interesting with it!

In a spirit of those videos, use this test chamber as a base for your creative endeavors. You have three weeks (with additional three days, three hours and three minutes, in a form of the Grace Period) to try out some new technologies you've never used before, mess with gameplay mechanics you've never designed around before, go wild! As long as it involves Triple Laser, everything is a fair game!

Guidelines

  • Make a game based on Triple Laser. Your goal is to make an interactive experience that is reasonably similar (visually or functionally) to Portal 2's test chamber called Triple Laser (video below). It doesn't have to be an exact replica, but make sure your content is inspired by it.
  • Make it accessible. You may use any game engine or technology you want, but it is strongly advised to make it as accessible as possible to allow other people to easily enjoy it. Ideally, it would be a WebGL game hosted on your Itch.io project page. If your platform choice does not allow that, it is recommended to share a video presenting your project alongside a downloadable version of it.
  • Start fresh. Don't use any project that you've worked on before the jam. You may use external resources (while remembering to give proper credits) or resources made before the jam began, but they should not be a major part of the final result.
  • Anyone can enter. An additional bonus is knowing what Portal 2 and Triple Laser is, obviously. You may work alone or in groups.
  • Be reasonable. Avoid making content that is NSFW, paid or offensive. We're here to all have fun, after all!

Ranking

When the jam is over, you'll have a one week period where you'll be able to play through other people's creations and judge them based on three categories:

  • Creativity - how much innovative and interesting the idea behind the game is.
  • Effort - how much work you feel went into creating the game.
  • Fun - how much you've genuinely enjoyed playing the game.

Once voting is over, I will go through some of the top creations from which I'll pick my favorites and showcase them in a YouTube video. That's also when results will be revealed.

Keep in mind that, by submitting your game to this game jam, you acknowledge that it may be shown on my channel without your express permission. However, the game is still your property, and I do not claim rights nor ownership of whatever you create.
