All are welcome!

Why is TriGameDev?

Solo game dev can be lonely

Let's be alone together

The Jam

The jam runs for 48 hours

Incorporation of the theme is mandatory, but your interpretation can be whatever you want it to be

Challenges are optional, but may help you to narrow an idea down, or practice something you don't often do

The Rules

  • NSFW content must be flagged
  • Your submission must be built during the duration of the jam
  • You can use any asset you are legally permitted to use
  • Gen-AI is permitted, lazy Gen-AI is not
  • No spam submissions, your submission must be unique to this jam
  • An interpretation of the theme should be incorporated into your submission
  • An explanation of your interpretation should be included in your submission
  • Respect yourself, respect your fellow jammers, respect the jam

The Theme

Unoficially Licensed

Create a game based on a license for a fictional piece of media

You can go as detailed with your made up source as you want, feel free to do this before the start of the jam

It can be as detailed as a fully fleshed out script for a cancelled children's television show, or as simple as "This is based on a movie called 'Bat'"

The Challenges

I did it myself...

Make everything in your game, from sounds to art to text completely by hand

ARG!!!

Put some pre-jam time into developing the lore of your fictional media and sneak some of it out into the internet

Radio Killed the Video Game Star

Make your game an adaptation of a fictional radio program

The Ratings

  • Theme: How well did the game fit the theme?
  • Engagement: Did it draw you in? Make you want to finish it?
  • Sound: Does the game have good/interesting sound?
  • Art: Does the game look good/interesting/strangeinagoodway?
  • Impression: Does the game stick with you after you finish playing?

What Do I Get for Winning?

There are two ways to look at this:

1: Nothing of value

2: Bragging rights, a sense of accomplishment, and a cool role on our Discord

The two are not mutually exclusive

Make of them what you will
