Join us for an exciting game jam across three Australian states, where you can unleash your game design skills! Whether you’re working solo or teaming up with others, create a fun video game to add to your portfolio. The game jam will be hosted online, with clubs choosing to have in-person events for the first day. Judging wiil held online, with winners announced at the online closing ceremony on 13th April @ 6PM AEDT at the Tri-State Game Jam Discord server!

Games will be judged by following criteria:

• Enjoyment - How fun was the game?
• Creativity - How uniquely was the theme interpreted?
• Presentation - How polished was the game?

Event Details

• Game Jam Timeframe: 10th April @ 12PM AEST - 12th April @ 11:59:59PM AEST!
• Who: Members of either Playmakers, Game Makers Club (GMC), or Game Developers Club (GDC)!

Please note:

• Award winners will be announced at the closing ceremony on 13th April @ 6PM AEST at the Tri-State Game Jam Discord server.
• Award winners must be members from any of the participating clubs engaging in this game jam. We ask for full names in your submission to verify that you are a member should you win.
  • If any associated award winners from a game submission do not meet this requirement, they are ineligible to receive any prize money.

Rules:

- No generative AI is allowed for any aspects of the jam.
- You can use any game engine, however the game must be playable as a standalone build. - You are allowed to kit bash with third party assets, as long as they are listed in the credits.
- The game should be suitable for a general audience, so please avoid strong language, nudity & excessive gore.

What to bring/use?

Some recommended resources are:

• A laptop with the necessary software (Unity, Unreal, Photoshop, Blender, etc.)
• Favourite assets from past projects or asset stores (3D models, 2D textures / sprites, scripts, particle effects, audio, etc.)
• Discord and Itch.io accounts for communication and submissions.

Team formation: To help you find teammates with complementary skills, think about the areas you want to work on during the Game Jam, whether it’s programming, game design, art, narrative writing, audio design, or project management. USE THE DISCORD SERVER FOR THIS GAME JAM TO ORGANISE THIS!
