hi there, sasha here! thank you all so much for bringing this jam to life, i sincerely couldn't have done it without all of your help.

we're moving on to weirder and weirder things over in our corner of the internet, but i'm delighted to let you know that my little spat hosting itch jams has just begun! starting last week, i've been hosting weekly jams on itch and on our discord server to keep us creating, workshopping, and meditating together as a community. you can find the first of these jams here.

the next big jam i'll host will be from july to august this summer, starting when this "season" of weekly jams wraps up. stay tuned!

in this space we will recognize that making art, especially this kind, is a lot of work and puts stress on you physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, even when you are using it as an outlet. 

in this space we will breathe and put ourselves first. in this space we will be kind to ourselves.

as such, april 10th is a soft deadline for this jam. please, do not crunch yourself for this jam. do not overextend for this jam. i’ll be checking in from time to time to get a feel for how we’re doing. the offer is always open for a deadline extension, message me if you need one.

worth adding:

i have received many comments and questions asking if non-rageful trans art is welcome in this jam. the answer is yes.

loud / angry / ugly are all encouraged, but optional

all trans art is to be celebrated in this jam. trans grief, trans misery, trans joy, trans love, trans hope — all of these are welcome

i rage in solidarity with my comrades who do not have the energy for rage

there is no incorrect way to respond to the impossible conditions under which we live

please know that i'm in a pretty tight spot as the runner of this jam and that i’ve had to make some tough decisions so far, so if/when i take action to curate the discord server or the itch jam space, it’s not personal at all (i really hate saying no to people so please take my decision with grace) 

that said, every art curation is political and i give a shit about the political message i + my jam are sending. i’m not going to be a coward and pretend i’m not making decisions so that my jam looks the way i want it to look. as long as you are respectful of the vibe u are ok, i dont want this to scare anyone & 99% of the work ive seen so far has been radical and good 

for transparency, right now what i am specifically talking about is the way that violence and authority are dealt with in submitted material

FUCK cops, fuck imperialism, this is a radical trans space, i am an anarchist and if you don’t like that go somewhere else i guess lol

SUBMITTING YOUR PROJECT POST-DEADLINE

hi all! as the jam wraps up, i wanted to post a quick guide to getting your project in the jam after the deadline's passed.

step 1: finish your project and publish it on itch. 

step 2: DM me the published project link and let me know you'd like to get it in the jam. you can reach me on twitter @stargazersasha or on discord at stargazersasha hashtag 7871. 

step 3: i'll use your link to generate your unique submit token, which i'll send back to you. all you have to do is click the link i send back! you'll have to be logged into the account associated with the project page in order for the link to work.
