Welcome to the Touhou ~ Fanworks 'n Chill Discord's first proper game jam! We welcome game developers of all skill levels to participate! Whether you want to make a cool action platformer, a relaxing puzzle game, or an intense STG, it's all up to you!

THEME: A NEW FACE IN TOWN (ORIGINAL CHARACTERS)

"Gensokyo is home to myriad stories, from the ordinary to the bizarre. This spring, you could hear rumors about people who looked almost like they belonged, yet were completely unknown. Are they welcomed with open arms, or are they behind their own incident? It's time to explore their story—where the line between canon and creation is non-existent."

RULES:

• Games must be based on the Touhou series to some degree.
• A non-canon Touhou character must be implemented into your game. You may choose characters from pre-existing media such as fangames (e.g., Fuma Mishandra from Book of Star Mythology), albums (e.g., Tokuko Amaginomiya from Heavenly Gathering of Clouds), or create your own original character.
• You may use resources such as graphics, sounds, engines, and scripts that were made prior to the jam, as long as the bulk of your work takes place during and for this Jam.
• Asset stealing or modification is allowed only if you have the proper license or permission from the original creator. Royalty-free assets are fair game.
• Follow ZUN's guidelines. You can click here to read them.
• No Generative AI is allowed at all.
• No R-18/bigoted/hateful/abusive content.
• You may work alone or in a team. You may also contribute towards multiple games if you would like.

• You may submit your game as soon as the jam period begins.
• Submitted games may be of any genre and have any gameplay style you'd like.
