🔪Torture Jam🔨
Any kind of media - as long as it has torture!
Hello everyone! This is a jam for folks who want to make some torture! Any kind of torture! All kinds of torture! Sexual torture! Physical torture! Torture basement! Whatever you can hekn think of as long as it is torture! But uhhhh because it is literally the torture jam, please feel free to GO FUKN WILD YOU FREAKS! <3
Ironically, Torture Jam is going to be a laid back affair. You can work on your project early. You can submit your project late. There won't be any money at stake - this is all just for the love of torture. It can be any kind of medium you want, whether it is a game or a book or a comic or a zine or something else. The only thing is that torture must be an integral part of it. Because... need I say it again? It's the torture jam!
I'll try my best to read through all the lovely things that everyone submits to the jam, so put your heart into it! And plenty of blood and guts too!
Also if you are worried your game may break itch TOS, see the additional submission rules at the bottom. Hosting your game on my website is totally optional!
Want to team-build or chat with other people joining in the jam? Here's a discord link for all the jams I run.
Also, a special thank you to RailgunRabbit for making the images for this jam. Time for me to repay the favor by linking them up! itch bsky
📝Rules for projects:
- Project must include torture as a focal point.
- Any kind of torture is fine. But I do like my gore a whole lot.
- Be mindful of harmful stereotypes or games that come off as malicious towards the reader; There are no specific things that are off-limits, however I may disqualify entries based on our own judgement. (E.g., a game that treats suicide or self-harm as cheap shock value instead of telling something interesting with it.)
- While your project can include bigotry, it cannot promote bigotry. BE NICE.
🖥️🤓TECHNICAL RULES:
- Your project must be enjoyable on windows, mac, and linux.
- You can submit your project to multiple jams, as long as they meet the requirements.
- All members involved in a team and the jam have to be legal adults.
- This jam will not be judged, but I'll try to experience and enjoy everything submitted
- No paid games as submissions. Once the judging has concluded you are free to do what you want with your submission.
- This jam will accept entries with NSFW, heavy and uncomfortable themes, but they are meant to be tagged appropriately.
- The usage of generative AI for your submission is forbidden. If you personally don't think you're very good at a particular artistic endeavor (e.g., art, music, writing), I would still rather see your best and most sincere attempt than generated assets.
- If I feel like your project is jam-spam, not a good fit for the jam, or whatever else, I can remove it at will.
📝🖥️Additional submission rules (optional):
Before the deadline, you upload your game to itch. If you are worried it may break itch TOS, you can submit your VN to fishersgamejams(at)gmail(dot)com following this format:
- Your studio/group/artist name(s)
- A download link or website that has your VN in Windows, Linux, and Mac builds. (some sort of online file-share system is ok for this)
- A 128x128 png of a logo/image to represent your team or VN
- Links to any websites or social medias you want shown alongside your game
I recommend making your own website or itch page to host your game on so that way you can make updates to it, even if I am offering to host some of the games on my website.
