This is a beginner friendly ranked jam. Use the theme as inspiration and take on the Bonus Flame if you're up for the challenge. You'll have 14 days to create an awesome game!

Theme & Bonus Flame

Theme - Brawl

The theme is the core inspiration for your game. You can interpret it however you'd like! Following the theme isn't 100% required, however you will be rated based on how well you implement it.

Bonus Flame (Optional Challenge) - Makeshift Weapons

This is an extra challenge for anyone interested. The Bonus Flame adds an additional theme, object, or gameplay mechanic for you to incorporate into your game. This is completely optional, but games that implement it will be rated on how creatively and effectively they implement it.

Rules & Guidelines

• You can use any engine, framework, or tool

• You can work solo or in a team (larger teams can be harder to coordinate in just one week)

• Pre-made assets are allowed if you own the rights to use said assets. Keep in mind, the more you make yourself, the more you'll learn!

• Your game should be specifically made for the Tiny Embers Jam. Do not submit games you made for other jams

• Games must be submitted before the deadline. If you just miss the deadline, contact me on Discord and we'll see what we can do

• No NSFW, Generative AI, or offensive content is allowed. Gore is okay if it serves a purpose in your game

• You are legally required to have fun .;,,;.

Rating

After the jam, participants will rate each other's games based on the following categories:

• Theme & Bonus Flame - How well the theme and (if used) Bonus Flame were implemented

• Creativity & Design - How original and well-designed the game is

• Gameplay & Fun - How smooth, engaging, and fun the game feels

• Visuals & Presentation - The overall look and feel of the game

• Music & Sound - Audio design, music, and sound effects

Prizes

The Top 3 submissions will earn a free copy of the Low Poly Dungeon Kit - a modular, game ready asset pack from Ember Light Games, perfect for building your own dungeon crawling adventures!

The #1 overall game also receive a special champion role in our Discord Server!
