Kickstart your semester of TigerDev by making a game within a week! In this game jam, you're free to use ANY tool you'd like to make your games! That's right, you can make anything from a pen-and-paper brain teaser to a series of Mario Maker levels! The more creative you are with these open limitations, the better. This gamejam is the perfect chance for new members to have a jump-start into game development, and for older members to try new things and stretch their minds a bit before joining a semester project. No matter how big or small you choose to make your project, remember to have fun!

1. No more than 3 people per team.

2. You cannot use code or assets created before the jam.

3. Premade assets are allowed as long as you follow the conditions provided by the creator.

4. You may use ANY game engine, level designer, or editor; anything goes! The only requirements are that your game is playable and can be judged.

5. You may make changes to your game post-jam, but must provide a change log.

The jam will last from 29th August 7 p.m. to 5th September 11:59 a.m. Voting will be on until 9th September 11:59 p.m.

ARCADE

This is the first TigerDev gamejam to be judged on by the club as a whole! After the jam ends, club members can give feedback online. There will be a final judging period after the September 10th TigerDev meeting so members can give feedback in person. Scores for each individual submission will be averaged to give a final score. The following categories and weights will be used to determine scores.

• The winning team can also design or pick their own slack emoji to be added to our slack. Final approval is left to the TigerDev officers.

Subsequent prizes may be available for those games that go above and beyond.

All submissions must include:

• Either a playable version of the game, or thorough documentation with screenshots and/or video.

• A design document

• A logo displaying the name of your game.

The design document should include, but is not limited to:

• A brief blurb (1-2 paragraphs) about your name that may include necessary plot details, explanation of gameplay mechanics, mention of original art/sound, etc.

• A list of relevant controls.

• Any other necessary documentation such as credit to those who worked on the game.

If the game is physical and not electronic, the game must be able to be replicated using the documentation and design document provided.
