The TigerDev Fall Break Game Jam will run during Auburn University's Fall Break, and is a collaborative event between TigerDev and Torch Technologies.

There will be an optional in-person kick off! If you're still looking for a team, or just want some free caffeinated beverages, join us on campus at Shelby 1122 for the theme reveal at 6:00 PM on October 7th!

Rules

This jam will run from October 7th at 6:00 PM, and conclude on October 10th, at 6:00 PM, giving participants 72 hours to make their games.

  1. Each team must deliver a game that is playable on Windows devices. Browser-based is also acceptable. If all of the information about controls/gameplay cannot be deduced from your game itself, please attach a simple document explaining controls or install instructions. 
  2. You may use ANY game engine, level designer, or editor; anything goes! The only requirements are that your game is playable and can be judged.
  3. Asset store or pre-made assets are accepted, as long as you are not violating the licenses associated with these assets by including them in your game.
  4. Teams may consist of up to 3 people.


Theme



Judging

The games will be judged by members of Torch Technologies. They will provide industry-grade feedback on each of the games, and will be ranking them by the following metrics:

/20: Gameplay - Is the game fun to play?

x/20: Creativity- Is the game innovative, novel, or unique?

x/20: Design- Does the game show expertise in system, level, or narrative design?

x/20: Atmosphere- Do the art, audio, and gameplay all work together to provide a cohesive experience?

x/20: Adherence to Theme- Does the game fit well with the given theme?

Prizes

Each member of the winning team will receive the following:

  • $30 Gift Card to Steam or Xbox/PSN/Nintendo digital storefronts
  • A Torch Technologies t-shirt

Each team can also add their choice of custom emoji to the TigerDev Discord!


In order to qualify for prizes, teams must have at least one member that is an Auburn student, however, anyone can participate in the jam!
