Welcome to the fourth semiannual Worst Garbage Online Game Jam!

This jam is a place for our community to come together and stretch our creative muscles.
Like previous jams, entries are not relegated to video games only! Any creative work can be submitted! You will have nine days to complete your submission from the start of the Jam. The theme for the jam will be revealed when the jam officially starts on January 9th.

Rules

While this jam is open to everyone, there are a few ground rules. These are not intended to rain on anyone's parade or be significantly limiting in any way. They're just here to make the jam more accessible and enjoyable for as many folks as possible.

  • Be kind - Both in submitted works, and in conversations around them, this is the most important rule. No homophobia, racism, transphobia, sexism, or any other form of bigotry will be tolerated. Violators will not only be kicked from the Jam, but will be reported via Itch itself. We take this extremely seriously and it should not be hard at all to follow this rule. Criticism of work is allowed and encouraged, but must be constructive and intended to be helpful.
  • Everything is a Game - For the purposes of this jam, everything is a game. That means you can submit any kind of creative output you like. While video games are the main focus, we are happy to accept any creative works inspired by the theme. Music, visual art, video, tabletop or board games and prose are all accepted and encouraged!
  • Work alone, with a friend, or find a team - There are no limits or requirements on team sizes. Feel free to use the The Worst Game Jam (Winter, 2025) channel in Discord to recruit or offer your services. If you need help finding a team, ask in the Discord or use the Google Form and Form Responses.
  • There are no losers here - Submissions will not be ranked and no winners, or losers, will be selected. There is no prize. This jam is for the exploration and expansion of your skills as a creator. Use it to learn something new, or hone existing talents.
