Welcome to the Fourth Soapbox Jam! 

METROIDVANIA EDITION

Theme:

This is a special week long edition of the Soapbox jam, with special rules. While in normal soapbox jams, the phrase, word, and inspiration are all hidden until the start of the jam, and you can use any combination of at least two of them. In this special edition, the inspiration is Metroidvania and you must use it in your game. The phrase and word will be announced when the jam begins, and you can choose to use either one or both. You must use at least one, in addition to Metroidvania.

Rules:

1. You must make the game within the time frame of the jam

2. You may reuse common, generic art, code, and audio that was not made during the jam, but the majority of your game must be made during the jam

3. Credit the original artists of any assets you use. AI generated assets are strictly forbidden and will result in disqualification

4. Your game must be a Metroidvania. You must also use either the prompt, word, or both.

5. We want as many participants to rate other people's submissions as possible, so, in order to be eligible to win the jam you must have rated at least 50% of the other submissions.

There will be a period of one day where we will be accepting late entries after the jam ends. Join our discord server to submit a late entry. Submissions are locked once the jam ends, and will automatically unlock once the voting period ends
