Have you ever been overwhelmed by the perceived amount of time you need to make a game? Participated in the 1 week, 48 hours, 24 hour, and 3 hour jams, but want to push your skills further? Want to make a game, but have very little time to dedicate to a jam? Love making games but get distracted super easily? Then this is the jam for you! With this game jam, you are only allowed to spend one hour on your game! Of course, if you want to make more games, multiple submissions are definitely allowed! This jam is focused on giving the busy bodies, the challenge seeking, the overwhelmed, and the easily distracted a way to participate in game jams without spending several hours or days on a single game!

Rules:

Every submission should aim to be made in an hour or less (Not a hard and fast rule, but is the focus!)

Premade assets and asset packs are allowed, but if they are made for the jam, this should count towards the time. (If you use anything you have not personally made, make sure you have the rights to it and give credit where applicable.)

Coming up with the game, planning what you will do, exporting the game, and setting up the Itch page do not count towards the time.

You can work solo or in teams! If you work in teams, you can either each work on the game for an hour, or have your cumulative time be an hour. Your pick!

Any engine is fine, as long as the game is either playable in browser or has a Windows port.

Games submitted to other jams can be submitted here IF the game was made in an hour or less. Likewise, this game can be submitted to other jams.

Rating:

The submissions will be rated on if the game was made in 1 hour or less, how well it fit the theme, visuals and audio, gameplay, and overall.

Have fun! This is meant to be a challenge to test your skills while providing you the game jam experience on a smaller scale. That said, games are not expected to be polished and launch ready. No need to add that kind of pressure to yourself! Enjoy the thrill and be proud of what you accomplished, even if it has tons of bugs! At least you made something! Use this experience as an opportunity to learn and grow!

If this is a jam y'all would be interested in participating in on a recurring basis, let me know!
