What is the Olive Jam?

It's a game jam. What did you think it was?

But seriously this is a little game making competition going from the dates of July 26th-August 4th giving you ten days to put together a little game that will fit the theme provided at the start of the jam. Game jams are often done over short periods causing people to not be able to participate due to lack of time so The Olive Jam spans over two weekends with the hope that it will provide a slightly more relaxed jam experience.

The theme is…

All games must be PG-13 or lower. This means no excessive swearing, no excessive gore, no NSFW work, and generally be courteous to the fact that people who are younger may be participating.

All games must fit the theme somehow. As long as you can explain reasonably your entry will be accepted.

You may use pre-made assets (MADE BY HUMANS) as long as you credit the original creator. You will be knocked 1 point down in any category where you use pre-made assets. (So, if I used somebody else's art for my game and they gave consent, and I credited them and I got a score of 4 in visuals that would be knocked down the 3)

Absolutely no AI art, music, writing or any other use of generative AI whatsoever. If you can't be creative enough to try and do it yourself or get somebody else to make that thing then there is no point in you participating in a jam funded by creativity. Nothing AI will be tolerated and if you are suspected of using AI and cannot prove otherwise then your entry will be removed.

You can have teams of whatever size you like! 1-100 I don't really care! Just know that teams above 4 people can be kind of hard to manage within short periods of time so be mindful of what you can handle.

There aren't any monetary awards however the top 3 games (and other honorable mentions) will be shown off in a youtube video following the conclusion of the jam.
