IT IS

Welcome to the first ever Mighty Jam! 

I'm a guy who loves me some creative development, and I want to encourage it! So let's host a party and see what we can make together! I brought prizes!

==Rules==

• Any Engine is allowed. 

• You will have 1 week to develop a game prototype. The Jam shall begin March 11th and end on March 18th

• The Mods of Palm's server are ineligible to win Palm's Choice, but may still compete for People's Choice if they desire to do so.

• You may use paid-for assets, but I will be more impressed by creative use of free assets or those you made or edited yourself. 

• You may include a trailer for your game, artwork, or any other kind of additional content you can think of to increase your presentation score.

• All genre of games are allowed. Platformer, Shooter, Visual Novel, make a short tabletop game if you really want to.

• 18+ or NSFW games and/or games that intend to become 18+ or NSFW following the jam will not be allowed. Take a cold shower.

• Games must be single-player, or contain a single-player mode.

•Games must be uploaded to Itch.io without price to download.

• Peoples Choice

• Palm's Choice

You will be judged in 4 categories.

Composition. How well the graphics and music fit the tone and feel of the game. 

Execution. How well the game controls, as well as how stable it is. Bugs that hamper the experience will cost points. Bugs that are fun will add to your score. You made them, whether it was intentional or not.

Hook. How well the game captured the players attention and kept it. Whether through story, music, graphics or interesting game mechanics.

Presentation. How well the game was pitched on its page. Trailers, screenshots, and descriptions of your games will all add to this score.

People's Choice. Vote for your favorite game using your own individual criteria.

• Games must include a README.txt file containing: 

1. The Submitters preferred name and what pronouns they use

2. Instructions on how to play the game

3. Credit given for all assets used

4. (Optionally) A short message about your thoughts on the game, the experience you had making it, and one thing you feel like you have learned from it

==Awards==

The winner of each will get a cash prize which currently sits at $50 USD but may by increased if anyone wishes to contribute to the cup.

The top 3 games will also be given the option to host their game on the Mighty Palm's Itch.io store for free. Links on the games page to donate or otherwise support the creators directly will be provided. 

(Palm receives 0% of your donations. Games that wish to be paid-only cannot be hosted on Palm's page )

Teams are discouraged for this one, unless turnout exceeds expectations. In either case, the submitter of the game will receive the prize, and it falls to them to distribute their winnings to any potential team members.

There will be a few days to meet up and discuss strategies.

The Theme will be announced when the jam starts. It will be announced on stream via twitch and in the Discord as well, and Palm will give some beginner tips and taking questions for 4 hours afterwards.
