The Maple Jam is an indie TTRPG game jam celebrating Canadian creators, and is also a place to spotlight Canadian art, history & culture. From May 1 to July 1st (Canada Day), participants are encouraged to do one of the following:
- create a supplement for a game designed by a Canadian - Google Sheet Here
- create a game inspired by a game or setting designed by a Canadian
- hack an existing game to create a uniquely Canadian setting
- Make an original game centring a Canadian phenomenon, Canadian history, or a piece of Canadian culture
- Make a game or game-thing inspired by the works of a Canadian Artist
Non-Canadian game designers are welcome to participate. If you are Canadian, consider this a great opportunity to spotlight your work!
- No AI-generated art or writing
- This is a game for indie ttrpgs - no video games or visual novels.
- Only use assets and content you know you have the rights to: New School Revolution has a great collection of links for Public Domain Art.
- Submissions must fit the theme: either celebrating Canadian design, Canadian art, or Canadian culture.
- Representations of fascism, racism, and other bigotry should be critical representations.
- You have the right to charge for your work!
- Works submitted should be made (or added to / improved upon) during the two months of the jam.
