Now, you might be asking yourself "What the heck is The Expansion Jam?" well I'm here to tell you. This is not like your ordinary game jam. In this jam you will take a game that you have made from a past game jam and expand it! It could be ANY game from AN- ...sorry... MOST jams (More on that in #Rules). Just pick the game you want to expand and add new levels, mechanics, content, story, etc. You can add ANYTHING YOU WANT as long as you can add it in the time frame of the jam and by the end of the jam the entry adheres to the theme! So, you'll have a week to EXPAND UPON a past jam game!

You may work in, solos and  teams. Whatever fits your bill! Teams can come together on my Discord Server (Note the discord server is not specifically for the jam)

The jam will start on Friday, May 15th at 15:00pm (EST)

and will end on Friday, May 22nd at 15:00pm (EST)

the rating will close on Friday, May 29th at 15:00pm (EST)

THE THEME IS....

WAVES!

The rules are (fairly) simple:

1 - You can ONLY choose games that have been made from jams that were 72 HOURS OR UNDER in length. If you had 72 hours or under to make the entirety of your game jam entry you are allowed to use it. If you had MORE than 72 hours to make the game, you are NOT allowed to use it for this jam.

2 - You MUST provide the link to the ORIGINAL entry of the ORIGINAL game jam in your entry for this jam. Yes, this does mean that you will have 2 different slots on your itch page for practically the same game, it's just one is slightly more developed than the other. You may alter that in any way you like once the rating period of this jam is over.

3 - No NSFW games.

4 - You may use any engine you'd like (Unity, Unreal, GameMaker, etc)

5 - All assets are allowed as long as you have license for it and clearly state the right attribution in the game page.

6 - If you have already expanded upon the game you are NOT allowed to use it.

7 - The original jam game does NOT have to adhere to the theme. What DOES have to adhere to the theme is the entry you submit to this jam. You want to make sure that by the end of the submission period when you submit your game that it adheres to the theme in someway.

8 - Ok so actually due to the nature of this jam your entry doesn't HAVE to adhere to the theme, but it is heavily encouraged. 

9 - It is heavily encouraged that your entry follows BOTH the original theme as well as the new theme

10 - You are also allowed to treat this as a normal game jam. If you so desire you are allowed to create an entirely new jam game.

This jam is not about who wins, but still, it's nice to have some ratings anyway, so the games will be rated by all participants in the following criteria:

• Fun
