Welcome one and all to the first Bio-Med Computer Science Club game jam! What is a game jam? A game jam is a competition where people create video games around certain criteria based  on the theme of the game jam. After creating them, people submit their games and the community will vote on to find out which one is best. The theme of this game jam is water. It doesn't matter how you include it but water must be present in your game. The only other requirement is keeping the games safe for school. If your game fails either of these criteria your game will be disqualified. Not a programmer? That's fine! This is a great opportunity to learn. There is more to a game than programming  though so you are welcome to work in teams. Artists, musicians, and 3-D modelers can all help make a game!

If you have never made a game before, this is a good opportunity to learn. The Bio-Med Computer Science Club recommends the following tools:

  • Unity Game Engine
    • An advanced but easy to use 3-D and 2-D game engine with excellent documentation and fantastic tutorials. If you want to learn to use it, start with the Roll A Ball Tutorial.
